Juki Shoko Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chikusa-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture), which operates in construction machinery sales and repair, and solar air conditioning equipment, successfully concluded its experiential environmental learning event, "Life and Earth Learning Tour," for elementary school children and their parents at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya on March 25, 2026.

On the day, 35 parents and children participated, making it a learning opportunity where environmental issues were understood as "their own" through endangered animals, leading to action.

This event was held to commemorate the first anniversary of the release of the picture book "Protecting Everyone's Earth with ZEB/ZEH" *1.

Emphasizing that children consider environmental issues as "their own problems" while observing animals, the event provided an opportunity for them to proactively think, "Why are they decreasing?" and "What can I do?" by seeing actual animals rather than just books or videos.

This is the second event, following last year's experiential event "Everyone Protect the Earth Exploration Team" *2.

■ Tour Structure Guiding to "Action" in 3 Steps

This tour consists of the following three steps:

Discovery
Observe endangered species under the guidance of an interpreter
→ Understand the problems faced by the animals in front of them

Thought
Record insights on a worksheet
→ Emphasize "one's own thoughts" rather than correct answers

Action
Parents and children decide "what they can do starting today"
→ Integrate into daily life

■ Children's "Action Declarations"

Children looking for hints in the picture book. Parents and children thinking about strategies to protect the Earth and animals.

At the end of the event, each participating child announced "what they can do starting today to protect the Earth and animals."

〇 Turn off lights frequently
〇 Pay attention to marks when shopping
〇 Conserve water, etc.

■ Background of the Event: Responsibility as an Energy Company

Employees explaining the company's initiatives.

The company has supported regional infrastructure for over 65 years through construction machinery and energy facilities. However, the environmental impact of our "affluent lives" cannot be ignored. Therefore, we planned this event with the desire to create a place where everyone can think about "a future coexisting with the Earth."

■ Visitors' Voices

"Even though it rained, we saw lively animals that we don't usually see. I was surprised that my son actively spoke up."

"It was a valuable experience to see many animals in ways we don't usually. Listening to the explanations, I realized how various global environmental problems are connected. My child is also interested, so I want to remember what we learned today and review our daily lives."

"It was good to think with my child about what concrete actions we can take for global warming countermeasures.
I want to work on things we can do in daily life with my child!"

■ Picture Book "Protecting Everyone's Earth with ZEB/ZEH" *1

A picture book reflecting the characteristics of the ZEB-certified headquarters building was produced. This is the first time our company has created a ZEB picture book.

The picture book features animals as protagonists to make it relatable to children, explaining the mechanisms, impacts, and countermeasures of global warming in an easy-to-understand manner. It shows that houses and buildings that generate electricity and reduce electricity consumption (ZEB/ZEH) are effective in reducing carbon dioxide.

On Thursday, March 27, 2025, a "Picture Book Reading Session" was held for local elementary school students in collaboration with the Chikusa Ward Social Welfare Council of Nagoya City to commemorate its publication.
