Certified NPO Terra Renaissance (Chairperson: Mai Yoshida, Location: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, hereinafter Terra Renaissance) will hold an online talk event from 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026. This event will be the final installment of the 'Future with Africa — Looking at Africa's Present and Future from Four Fields' relay event, held jointly by four organizations active in Africa, leading up to Africa Day on May 25.

Uganda, a country called the 'Pearl of Africa.'
Rapidly developing urban areas, vibrant markets, beautiful nature. In the countryside, some people live in traditional mud huts and tend to their cattle.

There are women who wear colorful dresses, and there are old men with soccer balls on their heads. (What is that about!?) Yes, this is a very diverse and adventurous country!

For 21 years, Terra Renaissance has been working in Uganda to support the reintegration of former child soldiers, and since 2022, it has also been working to create green fields in areas with severe hunger problems.

This time, because we eat, laugh, work, and spend time together on-site, we will deliver the daily life that is almost never in guidebooks, and the figures of the people living in Uganda's third largest city, Gulu, and the northern Karamoja region.
