Don't lose to rising prices! Food Drive Reinforcement Month Kick-off Event Held!

Certified NPO Food Bank Yamanashi will implement "Food Drive Reinforcement Month (May 1 to June 30, 2026)" with the goal of delivering food support to 2,000 children this summer, amidst the ongoing surge in prices.

A kick-off event will be held on Monday, May 11th, from 4:00 PM.

Food Drive Reinforcement Month

Event Contents:

① "Food Drive Declaration" by student representatives from each school
Student representatives from each school will present their declarations by holding up declaration boards, explaining "why we are engaging in food drives" and "how our efforts will connect to local support."

② Performance by Shiranekou High School Cheerleading Club
The cheerleading club from Shiranekou High School will perform to enliven the event.

③ New Rice Storage Space Introduced
A newly prepared rice storage facility will be unveiled. We will further advance our efforts to stably deliver rice to more families in need of support.

About Food Drive Reinforcement Month:

A food drive is an initiative where individuals bring surplus food from their homes or workplaces to be delivered to families in need of food.

During this period, we are especially collecting the following food items.

Surveys have received comments such as "I'm hungry today and can't sleep." Food drives are initiatives that deliver food and peace of mind to such children in the community. The thoughts of each individual gather as food, supporting the dining tables of families in need and the smiles of children. Actions that care for others become a great force supporting the community.

[Food Bank Set also held this year]

This is a form of donation where you purchase a food bank set at a store, which is "support you can do while shopping."

You can purchase it at Ichiyamamart stores in Yamanashi Prefecture.
