Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to express dreams. This press release is the dream of "Nishimura Tougyou Co., Ltd."

Nishimura Tougyou Co., Ltd. (Yamashina-ku, Kyoto https://nishimuratougyou.co.jp/ ) is a manufacturer of industrial ceramics in Kyoto. Founded 108 years ago, with about 70 employees, it is what you might call a local factory.

Our dream is to solve thin workpiece handling problems worldwide with our partial adsorption porous chuck "ANYCHUCK" (https://nishimuratougyou.co.jp/anychuck/ ).

・About ANYCHUCK

Two years ago, we started selling our independently developed porous chuck under the name "ANYCHUCK," which has been adopted for film adsorption and for adsorbing workpieces of various sizes.
The feature of "ANYCHUCK" is that it can simultaneously adsorb multiple small workpieces and adsorb thin objects such as films without damage, by vacuum suction through fine-pore porous ceramics with a minimum pore size of 0.1μm. This product is a new business development that leverages our porous ceramic manufacturing technology, which we have possessed for several decades.

・Background of Our Dream

With conventional vacuum chucks that have holes of several tens of micrometers or more, thin workpieces can get scratches or adsorption marks. Improving warpage was also a difficult problem. For thin objects, handling films thinner than 10μm without damage is a very challenging task. Furthermore, it was not possible to adsorb workpieces of various sizes with a single chuck, requiring troublesome jig changes.
Over the past few years, we have witnessed these challenges becoming problems in manufacturing sites. With the recent trend towards thinner workpieces, we have heard many concerns such as "How can we transport film/metal foil without damage?" and "How can we correct warpage and fix it flat?"

・Our Dream

We believe that "ANYCHUCK" is a rare product that can solve such problems. In fact, we have seen customers shout with joy several times when their problems were solved. We rarely encounter such situations with other products, and it gave us a strong sense of fulfillment. These experiences changed our values, as we usually make parts that are "taken for granted."
Our dream is to solve the workpiece handling problems that are still scattered across manufacturing sites worldwide. We want people all over the world to think of "ANYCHUCK" for thin workpieces. Although what we can do may be small, we dream of contributing to the technological advancement of humankind, even a little, by solving problems worldwide.
