On October 29, 2024, Nishio City planned new strategic initiatives, dubbed "Nishio City Furusato Nozei 3.0," as a "cutting-edge" effort to further develop Furusato Nozei and attract national attention. As part of these initiatives, Nishio City opened an official Furusato Nozei Instagram account and has been promoting Nishio City's Furusato Nozei return gifts using unique characters, Furusato Nozei support ambassadors "Macho" and "Unacho." The slightly peculiar yet endearing appearance and character of "Macho" and "Unacho" garnered a great response, and the official Instagram account reached 10,000 followers in just three months after its launch. Subsequently, the new "Ebicho" character, who is plump and pretty, was born. Currently, the number of followers has increased to 15,000, growing into the third-largest account nationwide (according to Nishio City research, compared to official Furusato Nozei local government accounts nationwide). It has grown into a widely utilized tool for promoting Nishio City Furusato Nozei.
