◆Featured Materials: (A) 'Hyakki Yagyo no Zu' (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons), copied in the late Edo to Meiji periods. A picture scroll spanning approximately 9.5 meters, depicting various Yokai in procession and deities confronting them. (B) 'Ningen Ichidai Giga' (A Caricature of Human Life), copied in the mid-Edo period. A scroll depicting the life of a man, where all characters are drawn as charming skeletons.
◆About Nishio City Iwase Bunko: Founded in 1908 by local businessman Yasuke Iwase with the aim of social contribution and permanent preservation of literature. It reopened as a museum specialized in classical books in 2003. It houses over 80,000 volumes ranging from the Nara period to modern times, with a focus on Edo period works.
