The Gamagori City Tourism Association (Location: Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture / Chairman: Kazuhiro Sugiyama), in collaboration with the Nishio City Tourism Association (Location: Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture / Chairman: Kinji Toriyama) and the Hekinan City Tourism Association (Location: Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture / Chairman: Koji Kanazawa), will hold the "MIKAWA de Kakigori Stamp Rally & General Election 2026" from Wednesday, July 1, 2026, to Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Gamagori City boasts local gourmet foods such as citrus fruits and deep-sea fish, along with the beautiful scenery of Mikawa Bay. Nishio City, renowned as a matcha production area, is praised as the "Little Kyoto of Mikawa" for its historic townscape. And Hekinan City, which joins the area this year, has a unique food culture, including fermented seasonings. These three cities will gather to compete for the top spot in Mikawa's shaved ice and frozen desserts.
In 2026, the year "Extreme Heat Day" was named, which shaved ice will be effective against this summer's heat!?
