Growth Strategy Utilizing Regulatory Relaxation – 'Startup's New Essential Subject: Public Affairs #3' Event to be Held in Fukuoka City

The General Incorporated Association Startup Ecosystem Association (SEAJ) and the General Incorporated Association Japan Public Affairs Association (PAAJ), in collaboration with Fukuoka City, will host an event themed on the growth strategies of startups, 'Startup's New Essential Subject: Public Affairs #3 ~ The Future of Fukuoka City's Startup Ecosystem Accelerated by Regulatory Relaxation,' on June 26, 2026 (Friday) at Fukuoka Growth Next.

Fukuoka City is promoting new challenges for startups through regulatory relaxation utilizing the National Strategic Special Zone system. This event will discuss the importance and practical methods of Public Affairs (PA) as a 'non-market strategy' based on these initiatives.

For startups, in addition to product development and marketing, it is increasingly important to face legal regulations and social systems and, when necessary, change the rules themselves. This event will explain specific methods of utilizing PA from the perspective of social implementation of services that are difficult to implement under current systems and business growth through solving policy issues.

On the day, following the keynote speech by Ayumi Fujimoto, Representative Director of SEAJ, various players such as Fukuoka City, the Cabinet Office, startups, and support organizations will take the stage. In the first half, they will discuss the role of the public sector in the startup ecosystem in Japan and worldwide, and Fukuoka's current status and future prospects from multiple angles.

In the latter half, under the theme of 'Non-market strategy and Public Affairs,' they will introduce specific examples of policy formation, regulatory relaxation, and rule-making through public-private collaboration. From the perspective of practitioners and policy officials, they will delve into the effects and methods, providing insights that participants can utilize in their own business strategies.

At the end of the event, networking time will also be set aside, aiming to create new opportunities for collaboration and co-creation through direct exchange of opinions between speakers and participants.
