■ As part of the Government Crowdfunding "Engawa Bench Project"

We will hold the "Opening the Concept of Engawa Bench" meeting!

📅 Date & Time: June 18th (Thu) 18:10 - 19:15
📍 Venue: Gifu Women's University, Building 10, 3rd Floor

"What if there was a bench in this town where anyone could sit anytime?"

The "Engawa Bench Project" began with this question.

At the Second Ibuki Collaboration Farm

We are currently working on this initiative with students from Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences, Gifu Women's University, Isshin Kensetsu, and members of the local community.

In this project, we prioritize thinking about "what kind of town we want to be" and "what kind of time we want to flow there" over "what kind of bench to build."

For this reason, the students and I walked through the local area together.

Interacting with children playing nearby and local residents, we experienced the town's scenery and people's lives, deepening our concepts based on what each of us felt and thought.

At the "Opening the Concept of Engawa Bench" meeting, students from Gifu Women's University will present the ideas and concepts they have envisioned so far.

We aim to not only present the completed designs but also to foster the concepts together with the participants, by sharing what we've seen while walking around town and the scenery and human connections we want to create through the bench, while also gathering feedback and opinions from attendees.

A bench is not just "something to sit on."

It is a place where people can stop, exchange words, and sometimes spend the same time together in silence.

What kind of scenery should exist in this town?

What kind of encounters and time should be born?

What kind of stories do we want to weave in the city of Gifu?

We hope this will be a time to think about these things together with everyone.

Please feel free to join us.
