In the northwestern part of Machida Yakushiike Park Shikisai no Mori, near the Peony Garden, Furusato Nogukan (Old Farm Tool Museum), and Nanakuniyama Farmers Center, the canola flowers (nanohana) are about to be in full bloom.

These canola flowers are cultivated by the Nanakuniyama Fureai no Sato Association, which is composed of local farmers, to preserve the agricultural landscape. After the flowers are enjoyed, the canola seeds (natane) are harvested, and once a month, a demonstration of rapeseed oil pressing and a sale are held at the Furusato Nogukan.

Sales of Nanakuniyama soba and soba flour, made from brown soba harvested last autumn, will also begin on April 1st.
