It is not easy for our society to recognize sexual violence against children with disabilities. The seminar will be held online (using Zoom).

This seminar consists of two parts (Part 1: approx. 90 minutes / Part 2: approx. 35 minutes / Group session & Q&A: approx. 25 minutes) and will proceed slowly over a total of 7 sessions. (With breaks in between)

Zero Base I: August 9 (Sunday)
Part 1: Re-examining sexual violence against children with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the perspective of those involved.
Part 2: (Theory 1) The importance of daily communication - aiming for self-advocacy.

Zero Base II: September 20 (Sunday)
Part 1: Considering sexual violence and sexual violence support from the perspective of rights and boundaries.
Part 2: (Theory 2) Communication is not built in a day - 10 years of learning through case studies.

1st Session: October 18 (Sunday)
Part 1: Connecting with those involved (1) - Children who have experienced (or are suspected of experiencing) sexual violence.
Part 2: (Practice 1) Communication support aiming for self-advocacy - Tips for adults to help children increase their own positive experiences.

2nd Session: November 22 (Sunday)
Part 1: Connecting with those involved (2) - Children who have committed (or are suspected of committing) sexual assault.
Part 2: (Practice 2) Communication support aiming for self-advocacy - Helping children develop a "sense of time."

3rd Session: December 20 (Sunday)
Part 1: Connecting with adults close to children (1) - Family.
Part 2: (Practice 3) Communication support aiming for self-advocacy - Children choosing for themselves, children deciding for themselves.

4th Session: January 17, 2027 (Sunday)
Part 1: Connecting with adults close to children (2) - Connecting with social resources, peers, and oneself.

Target Audience: Supporters who regularly interact with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (educators, childcare workers, after-school care/day service staff, medical/welfare professionals, local supporters - everyone is welcome).
