Dive into the field, report, write, and publish! The summer to become a 'Citizen Journalist' begins

There are realities that cannot be seen just by reading international news. This summer, you can become a citizen journalist yourself and delve into the front lines of the Global South in Thailand, Brazil, and Senegal. This is the 'Global Media Camp' offered by 'ganas,' a non-profit media outlet specializing in the Global South. Unlike typical study tours, participants do not just observe; they pair with local interpreters/helpers to interview local people directly. Articles are published on the ganas website. Participants receive one-on-one guidance from the editor-in-chief on everything from preparation to writing. Since 2014, GMC has been held 47 times in 14 locations across 10 countries. The 2026 summer locations include Thailand (covering Myanmar refugees), Brazil (covering Japanese immigrants), and Senegal (covering the fusion of Islam and Africa).
