About Japan Platform (Certified NPO)
Learning from the experience of the Kosovo conflict, Japan Platform was launched in 2000 as a mechanism for Japan's emergency humanitarian aid, based on equal partnerships among NGOs, the business community, and the government. In normal times, it functions as a platform where the three parties and diverse individuals can collaborate by leveraging their strengths and resources, delivering prompt and effective support to victims of natural disasters and refugees/internally displaced persons due to conflict, both domestically and internationally. To date, it has provided over 96.7 billion yen in humanitarian aid for more than 2,400 projects in over 65 countries and regions. While supporting its more than 45 member NGOs, each with its own area of expertise, in various ways, it acts as a professional in emergency humanitarian aid, engaging in activities rooted in the needs of those requiring assistance.
