Japan India Club, a nonprofit organization based in Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture (President: Takeshi Miyahara), successfully held the 13th 'ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026' (OJF2026) on February 7–8, 2026, in Puri, Odisha State, India. The event, free of charge, has become an annual highlight eagerly anticipated by the local community. The organization is now pleased to announce the 'ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026 in TOKYO Report Event,' scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, with registration now open.

Theme of OJF2026: 'Sing, Dance, and Celebrate in India!'

Thanks to warm support from the public, including crowdfunding, this year’s festival expanded to two days and concluded with great success. Activities such as distributing erasers to Indian children, serving Japanese foods like takoyaki, taiyaki, and Japanese tea, and offering attractions like goldfish scooping were highly popular. The Bon Odori dance, symbolizing Japanese festivals, brought together Japanese and Indian participants dancing in unison. The rhythmic and powerful performance of the 'Soran Bushi' dance, practiced by attendees, captivated the local audience. Joint performances by Japanese and Indian artists drew large crowds, filling the venue with excitement and energy. Approximately 20,000 people attended this year, marking the festival’s growth into a beloved local event. The festival has also been featured in 'The GLOBE Trekker India' (published by Gakken Holdings Co., Ltd.).

Event Overview

The report event will feature live performances by this year’s artists, video messages from India, and screenings of footage and photos from the festival. Food stalls from 'Makita-san’s ROMANCHAK HOTEL,' which received overwhelming praise from locals in India, will also be available. Additionally, an Indian goods corner, sessions by Yuko, an Indian astrologer based in India, and bingo games will be held. We warmly invite everyone to join us.
