Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, has signed a partnership agreement on vacant housing measures with Katitas. This marks the first time Katitas has entered into such an agreement within Okayama Prefecture.
Furthermore, this agreement is the first to be signed since the announcement of the "Setouchi City Open Creation Public-Private Co-creation Declaration." Moving forward, the city will continue to promote public-private partnerships to achieve a sustainable and attractive community.
Background of the Agreement
Amidst the nationwide increase in vacant houses, Setouchi City is facing challenges regarding neglected properties and the emergence of hazardous abandoned houses, requiring urgent action.
To address this, the city partnered with Katitas, a company with a nationwide track record in renovating and selling pre-owned homes. The city believes that Katitas's expertise in revitalizing unwanted properties according to local needs and providing them as new homes will greatly contribute to solving the city's vacant house problems.
Based on this agreement, the city will work in tandem with the company to prevent the rise of improperly managed vacant houses and promote their circulation, thereby advancing urban development where citizens can live safely and securely.
