"Yokosuka Curry Festival 2026" to be Held!! A Two-Day Food Festival Gathering Unique Curries Under One Roof~

Since starting "town development through curry" in 1999, Yokosuka City has advanced various initiatives to promote "Curry Town Yokosuka." Its main event, the "Yokosuka Curry Festival 2026," will be held at Verny Park as follows.

At the venue, in addition to the sale of "Yokosuka Navy Curry" and "Yokosuka JMSDF Curry," which was renewed last year, the annually popular "Yokosuka Curry Buffet" and "Yokosuka Curry Bread Festival" will continue to be held. Furthermore, from Aomori Prefecture in the north to Ehime Prefecture in the south, unique curries from all over the country will gather, allowing you to enjoy a wide variety of flavors.

Additionally, exclusively on Sunday, May 17th, the second day of the event, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Yokosuka District Headquarters, adjacent to Verny Park, will be open to the public. This is a rare opportunity to see naval vessels and other equipment inside the base, which is normally inaccessible.

Moreover, a free shuttle bus will operate connecting Verny Park and the "Yokosuka Morning Market," held on the same day at "Ichigo Yokosuka Port Market," Yokosuka's food promotion hub, making travel between the two venues smoother. We will deliver a two-day event where you can freely move between the curry festival and the morning market, fully enjoying the charm of Yokosuka's unique food and souvenirs.

(3) National JMSDF Curry Area
JMSDF curries from Kure, Sasebo, Maizuru, and Ominato will open booths, gathering JMSDF curries from all over the country.
(4) Entertainment
Music live performances produced by the YouTube channel "Tokyo Street Live 4K" (approx. 370,000 subscribers), which distributes live videos of popular young artists trending on SNS, held on a temporary stage inside the venue.
(5) Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Yokosuka District Headquarters Public Opening (Limited to Sunday, May 17th)
A public opening of naval vessels will be held exclusively on Sunday, May 17th. Please note that bringing food and drinks into the base is prohibited. Thank you for your understanding. The public opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 17th (last entry at 3:00 PM).

"I am truly delighted that the 'Yokosuka Curry Festival,' which can be called the 'face' of 'Curry Town Yokosuka,' is being held.
