New Outdoor Music Festival to be Held in Kiryu City, Gunma! 'KIRYU FESTIVAL 2026 MUSIC & CULTURE' Set for June 6-7, 2026

The Kiryu Festival Executive Committee will hold the first-ever outdoor music festival "KIRYU FESTIVAL 2026 MUSIC & CULTURE" under the concept of "Music & Craft Culture Festival" for two days on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture.

Located in the southeastern part of Gunma Prefecture, Kiryu City has long been known as the "Nishijin of the West, Kiryu of the East," a city with a history of textile industry representing Japan, and has produced numerous prominent apparel designers. In addition, the "Kiryu Yagibushi Festival," the largest summer festival in the northern Kanto region which attracts about 500,000 visitors and fuses the traditional "Kiryu Gion Festival" with the dance and music of the local folk song "Kiryu Yagibushi," is also known as a representative content of Kiryu.

Production for "KIRYU FESTIVAL 2026 MUSIC & CULTURE" is handled by "GREENROOM CO.", a creative production company that has worked on various cultural festivals centered around the GREENROOM FESTIVAL, which has been held in Yokohama for 20 years.

The festival will fuse Kiryu City's representative contents, such as the Yagibushi Festival and culture, with a music festival inviting more than 10 groups of diverse musicians and DJs active in the domestic top scene as guests. It is a "Chiiki Sogaku" (Regional Creative Music) project that collaborates with local residents, companies, and shops to build the community, enjoy the sound and space, and play the future of Kiryu City's tourism.

The venue is "Shinkawa Park," an urban park in Inari-cho, Kiryu City. This park, which is also the former site of the Kiryu Shinkawa Stadium—recognized as one of Japan's 150 sacred baseball places and famous spots—boasts great accessibility, reachable in about 2 hours from Tokyo. It is a nature-rich venue where you can feel "greenery" and "water," enveloped by a vast green lawn, a waterfall monument, and a pond. In this location, we will create a free and euphoric space where Kiryu City's culture and music merge.
