Born from the castle town culture of Kumamoto Castle, "Toranosuke" has proposed new value for Japanese sweets with "black" as its symbolic theme.
This renewal reconfigures the very space for enjoying wagashi. A new eat-in space has been established, transforming it into a place where visitors can slowly enjoy Japanese sweets and tea.

iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 Winner / Echoes Shinmachi 1F, 2-13-6 Shinmachi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture

All products displayed in the storefront showcase are available for both in-store consumption and takeout. You can enjoy them in various ways, whether as a souvenir for a special occasion or a casual treat to add a little sweetness to your everyday life.

Yomogi Mochi (¥260) / Ohagi (¥280) / Gyūhi Yōkan (¥260) / Imo Yōkan (¥280) / Mitarashi (¥130)

Zenzai Tea Set (¥780)

The zenzai, offered as an eat-in exclusive menu item, is made from carefully cooked Hokkaido-sourced adzuki beans, pursuing both a delightful grainy texture and a smooth mouthfeel. The sweetness is delicately adjusted to ensure the aftertaste isn't too heavy, resulting in a flavor that truly brings out the natural aroma and umami of the adzuki beans.
With meticulously toasted mochi for a fragrant finish, careful attention to the temperature of the bowls, and the lingering aftertaste in your mouth, we offer a zenzai that can only be created by a wagashi shop, meant to be savored slowly in our store.

Gyūhi Yōkan (¥260) / Yomogi Tea (¥400)

Wagashi from the showcase can not only be taken out but also chosen on the spot and enjoyed inside the store. We provide a unique wagashi shop eat-in experience where you can leisurely enjoy seasonal Japanese sweets with tea.

Sakurajima Komikan Japanese Black Tea (¥620) / Chiran Tea (¥580)

By carefully designing the bitterness, aroma, and umami of the tea to match the sweetness of the bean paste, the aroma of the ingredients, and the length of the aftertaste, we have selected teas "to enhance wagashi." By offering tea leaves, tea bags, and gifts in addition to in-store servings, we propose a new way for tea to naturally integrate wagashi culture into modern life, from daily use to special gifts.
