Largest Japanese Language Education Group to Host 'WEWORLD CAREER EXPO' for Foreign Talent

WEWORLD Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Masaaki Ogino), through its foreign talent placement business 'GLOBAL REACH,' will hold a career event titled 'WEWORLD CAREER EXPO' for foreign talent on June 25 (Thu) and June 26 (Fri), 2026. This event aims to facilitate face-to-face matching and hiring between companies and foreign students—including those from the ISI Japanese Language School Group, which boasts the largest number of international students in Japan—as well as other foreign talent enrolled in universities and vocational schools nationwide.

'WEWORLD CAREER EXPO' is a recruitment-linked career event organized by 'GLOBAL REACH,' a service operated by the WEWORLD Group, which houses the largest number of international students in Japan.

Focusing primarily on students at ISI Japanese Language Schools under the WEWORLD Group, the event provides a platform where students can experience everything from company understanding to job interviews in one place. In the 2025 fiscal year, the event was held four times, with over 2,100 international students and approximately 70 companies participating.

■ Background and Market Trends: A Turning Point for the Specified Skilled Worker Market

Labor shortages in Japan remain a structural issue, with the number of foreign residents under the 'Specified Skilled Worker' status reaching approximately 390,000 as of March 2026 (an all-time high, according to the Immigration Services Agency of Japan). The government's intake projection from April 2024 to 2029 is set at 820,000 people across all fields, and demand is expected to continue expanding.

Corporate demand for hiring in sectors such as hospitality, nursing care, and logistics—the sectors participating in this event—is high, and the fields where foreign talent can play an active role are diverse. Students are also increasingly showing interest in these industries.

On the other hand, following the temporary suspension of new entries for 'Specified Skilled Worker (i)' in the food service sector as of April 2026 (*), many students who had aspired to join this sector are now considering switching to other industries, broadening the range of options in their job hunting activities.

Given this situation, GLOBAL REACH is focusing on efforts to deepen students' industry understanding, such as hosting sector-specific awareness seminars at ISI Japanese Language Schools within the group.
