TeacherTeacher Inc. (Head Office: Kashiihama, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City; Co-representatives: Haruka Fukuda, Hitoshi Akiyama), which operates a free-of-charge supplementary school and produces a podcast on parenting, is pleased to announce that YUIRO Inc. (Head Office: Fukuoka City, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative Director: Masayuki Matsushita), operator of "Tutors Who Don't Teach" and "YUIRO Senior High School," has joined as a corporate sponsor for the parenting radio program "Teacher Teacher."

As part of its corporate sponsorship activities, YUIRO will donate the full amount of the first edition royalties from the new book by its representative, Masayuki Matsushita, titled "Manga and Diagrams: Understand from Scratch! The Transfer Textbook ~A Book to Read When You Feel Uneasy About School" (Subaru Sha).

Both companies, based in Fukuoka and having supported parents and children nationwide online, have chosen Fukuoka Tenjin Tsutaya Books as a base to disseminate the message "Towards an era where children can re-choose their schools, just like changing jobs." As the first initiative, an event for parents and children will be held on [Wednesday, July 29, 2026] at the SHARE LOUNGE within the bookstore.

Towards an era where children can re-choose their schools, just like changing jobs

The day a child says, "I don't want to go to school," can arrive suddenly. At such times, if parents and children are unaware of the background of school refusal or the various options available besides school, they can become overwhelmed by anxiety and feel cornered. Currently, many families only begin researching other options after their child can no longer attend school.

In fact, according to a survey by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the number of elementary and junior high school students truant from school exceeded 350,000, marking a record high for 12 consecutive years. Furthermore, approximately 1 in 11 high school students study at correspondence high schools.

The "Transfer Textbook" advocates the message, "Just as changing companies ('job transfer') has become commonplace, changing schools ('transfer') should also become commonplace." Just as working adults can be more positive about their current jobs knowing they have other options, children's daily lives at their current schools are supported by knowing they "can choose other places." Therefore, this book is written not only for those considering a transfer but also for those who are currently stuck. Knowing the options before anything happens has value.

The two Fukuoka-based companies will use Fukuoka Tenjin Tsutaya Books as their base of operations to spread this concept from Fukuoka to the rest of the country through events and outreach, going beyond mere corporate sponsorship.

Donation of First Edition Royalties from "Transfer Textbook"

As part of its corporate sponsorship activities, YUIRO will donate the full amount of the first edition royalties from the "Transfer Textbook."

TeacherTeacher delivers "another option" to children and families who feel uncomfortable attending school through its free supplementary school. This activity aligns with the concept of the "Transfer Textbook," which emphasizes that knowing "you can choose other places" supports the present.

Event to be Held at Fukuoka Tenjin Tsutaya Books on Wednesday, July 29

As a joint initiative, the two companies will first hold an event at Fukuoka Tenjin Tsutaya Books, suitable for parents and children during summer vacation. This event will focus on the concept of "re-choosing schools, like changing jobs," as advocated in the "Transfer Textbook."

Masayuki Matsushita, representative of YUIRO and author of the "Transfer Textbook" and the "13-Year-Olds' Career Path Consultation" series (totaling 16,000 copies sold), along with Haruka Fukuda and Hitoshi Akiyama of the parenting radio program "Teacher Teacher," winner of the 5th JAPAN PODCAST AWARDS Grand Prize, will discuss future career path selection with parents and children under the theme "If I were 13 years old."

This event is for families who are currently feeling uneasy about school, as well as those who think, "My child is fine right now." It will offer a time that makes daily life a little easier just by knowing. Children are also welcome to attend with their parents.

Speaker Profiles

Masayuki Matsushita

Born in 1993. Resides in Fukuoka City. Father of one. Graduated at the top of his class from Waseda Jitsugyo High School, then studied abroad in the US. Graduated from Waseda University, Faculty of Political Science and Economics. During his student days, he only knew the single path of academic scores. The sense of dissonance from giving up his dream of becoming a manga artist became the origin of his later entrepreneurial endeavors. After working for a listed education company and a consulting firm, he founded YUIRO Inc. in 2022. With the vision "Career paths can be re-chosen," he operates "YUIRO Senior High School," a correspondence high school support school that allows transfers from anywhere in Japan, and "Tutors Who Don't Teach," a monthly subscription online education service. He developed the unique career education method "YUIRO Style Autonomy Diagnosis," which visualizes autonomy, through joint research with Professor Ryuji Maeno, Professor Emeritus at Keio University and Dean of the Faculty of Well-being at Musashino University. His books include "13-Year-Olds' Career Path Consultation" and "The Transfer Textbook."

Representative Comments

Masayuki Matsushita, Representative Director of YUIRO Inc. / Author of "Transfer Textbook"

"I wrote 'The Transfer Textbook' hoping to reach those who are not considering a transfer. Knowing that 'you can choose other places' should make your current daily life a little easier. I am delighted to be involved as a corporate sponsor in Teacher Teacher's activities, which deliver another option to all families struggling with school."

Haruka Fukuda (left) and Hitoshi Akiyama (right), Co-representatives of Teacher Teacher Inc.

"Through operating our free supplementary school, we have delivered 'another option' to children and families who feel uncomfortable attending school. The idea conveyed in YUIRO's 'Transfer Textbook' – that 'your current school is not the only option' and 'knowing you can choose other places supports the present' – deeply resonates with the values we have cherished. Together with YUIRO, we want to deliver choices that bring a little more peace of mind to parents and children struggling with school, from Fukuoka to the rest of the country."

Future Outlook

The two companies plan to engage in ongoing collaboration, starting with this event, using Fukuoka Tenjin Tsutaya Books as their base of operations. Through both real-world and online channels, they will spread the idea that "there are paths to choose besides school" from Fukuoka to the entire nation.
