The "DBJ Environment Rating" loan is the world's first loan menu that scores the environmental management of companies using a screening system developed by the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) and selects excellent companies.
In this rating, our group's sustainability management was highly evaluated on the following three points:
1. Promotion of environmental management integrating top management and the workplace.
To promote environmental management across the entire TBK Group, under the leadership of top management, we began collecting and refining a wide range of environmental data at each site. We have also been promoting the optimization of production activities by viewing environmental initiatives from a management perspective, and continuing awareness-raising and improvement activities at manufacturing sites. The integrated PDCA cycle for environmental management by management and the frontline was highly evaluated.
2. Promotion of a differentiation strategy centered on environmental value based on long-term commercial vehicle electrification trends.
With our vision for 2030 to be a "company that speedily creates value matching the changing times," we are advancing the development of environmentally friendly products in collaboration with customers. To steadily realize our product development roadmap based on long-term trends such as the electrification of commercial vehicles, we set milestones in our medium-term management plan. We also strive to quantitatively appeal to the environmental load reduction effect through actual vehicle tests, promoting initiatives for differentiation centered on environmental value.
3. Strengthening collaboration with suppliers to build a sustainable supply chain.
Based on our Green Procurement Guidelines*, we continuously evaluate and provide improvement guidance on suppliers' environmental initiatives. In addition, we have newly published a human rights policy and informed a wide range of suppliers through business partner briefings. As a company expanding global production and purchasing activities, expanding the scope of initiatives to build a sustainable supply chain was highly evaluated.
*The "Green Procurement Guidelines" have now been revised to the "TBK Group Sustainability Procurement Guidelines."
Under our management philosophy of "manufacturing products that please customers and contributing to society," our group plays a role in supporting the safety and security of logistics by stably supplying essential safety components such as brakes for commercial vehicles, and functional components such as pumps for engine cooling and lubrication. We are also focusing on developing electrification solutions for the new era, starting with manufacturing utilizing casting and processing technologies cultivated over many years. Going forward, we will continue to strive for sustainability management that balances the "social value" and "economic value" of our products, and aim to be a company that can broadly contribute to society.
