On June 4, 2026, the joint project 'ReVIBES Project,' led by Toei Video Co., Ltd. and TANGLE Co., Ltd., announced that its first collaborative art works—based on the late Buichi Terasawa's masterpiece 'COBRA' and created by collage artist Kosuke Kawamura—have been sold at a private auction with the cooperation of SBI Art Auction Co., Ltd.

The auction event featured talk sessions and art exhibitions, drawing significant interest from both on-site and online bidders worldwide, highlighting expectations for the fusion of classic IP and contemporary art.

1. Buichi Terasawa 'COBRA' x Kosuke Kawamura: No. 001 COLLAGE (Edition 1/3) Hammer Price: 1,400,000 JPY A collage featuring various 'COBRA' characters. The hair sections feature mirror processing, changing expression depending on the viewing angle.

2. Buichi Terasawa 'COBRA' x Kosuke Kawamura: No. 002 SHREDDER (Edition 1/3) Hammer Price: 2,100,000 JPY Expresses the deliberate misalignment of shredder art through layered printing on aluminum canvas and acrylic panels. Floating the acrylic panels adds physical depth.

[About ReVIBES Project] The project aims to reinterpret IPs such as manga, anime, and games through the sensibilities of contemporary artists, distributing them globally as new art forms. By redefining IP as 'cultural assets' rather than mere reissues, it seeks to connect Japan's classic works to the art market.

The project is currently preparing its second phase and intends to expand opportunities for artwork release through collaborations with domestic and international artists and IPs.
