## Project Overview

Toei Video Co., Ltd. and TANGLE Co., Ltd. announce the establishment of "ReVIBES Project," a joint venture.

The ReVIBES Project is a collaborative initiative that reinterprets "immortal masterpieces" such as manga, anime, and game IPs (Intellectual Property) through the eyes of contemporary domestic and international artists, creating new art pieces.

As Japanese pop culture gains global recognition, this project aims to present its value within a new artistic context, establishing a stronger presence both domestically and internationally. This project is not merely a revival or nostalgia trip, but an attempt to redefine IP as contemporary art, fostering new expressions born from the intersection of past and present creativity.

The works announced this time are the first edition released under the ReVIBES Project. They are positioned as the inaugural collection for a project that redefines classic Japanese IPs as contemporary art and introduces them to the international market. These works hold an early position in a new market.

Through this project, ReVIBES aims to reach new audiences beyond existing IP fans, including art enthusiasts, collectors, and younger generations unfamiliar with the IPs. The project will actively pursue collaborations with overseas galleries, exhibitions, international auctions, and foreign artists, transmitting "a new wave of Japanese art" to the world.

## First Collaboration: COBRA × Kosuke Kawamura

The first collaboration brings together "COBRA," an immortal masterpiece by the late Buichi Terasawa, highly popular both in Japan and abroad, and acclaimed collage artist Kosuke Kawamura, also active and highly regarded internationally.

### Buichi Terasawa

In 1976, he apprenticed under Osamu Tezuka. In 1978, he began serializing "COBRA" in "Weekly Shonen Jump."

He pioneered a new era as a frontier in manga production incorporating computers, coining the term "digital manga."

### "COBRA"

An SF action comic drawn by the late Buichi Terasawa, a pioneer of digital artwork.

Its tankōbon volumes have been translated and published in over a dozen countries, making it an immortal masterpiece IP loved not only in Japan but worldwide.

### Kosuke Kawamura

A collage artist who has worked on numerous projects both domestically and internationally, spanning art, fashion, music, and advertising.

## First Edition Artworks

Utilizing the original "COBRA" artwork data boldly and lavishly, two types of art were created, collage art and shredder art, leveraging Kawamura's unique style. The fusion of these two unique worlds has resulted in new artistic expressions.

### Collage Art

A collage artwork generously incorporating various characters from "COBRA." The hair part features a mirror finish made of metal canvas, creating a piece whose expression changes with the viewing angle.

Kawamura says it took several months to begin production on this work. He states, "Too much collage can be overwhelming. Too little lacks interest. Ultimately, it clicked when I concentrated on the hair, and it created an impact as a large-scale piece."

### Shredder Art

In Shredder Art, intentional misalignments are created by printing the image in layers on aluminum canvas and acrylic sheets, then mounting the acrylic sheet to float above, giving a physical layered structure to a two-dimensional expression.

Kawamura comments on this work, saying, "From nearly 100 original 'COBRA' artworks, I chose one that I thought would look cool as a poster to display in a room, and by adding my own shredder style, I pursued an even cooler expression."

Framed outer dimensions:
