The 8th SAR satellite was launched on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 03:10 JST from the Mahia Peninsula launch site in New Zealand by Rocket Lab's Electron rocket. It was successfully injected into its planned orbit, established initial communication, and deployed its antenna on the same day. Since then, it has been operating smoothly and successfully acquired images.

The image published in this release is test data obtained through test radio wave emission to test and adjust the satellite's functions.
