Opening the Hall Entrance to Offer a "First Classical Experience" for Families

Shirakawa Hall (Naka Ward, Nagoya) will hold "Pilot Concert Vol. 1: Summer Vacation, Full-Throttle Classics!" on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, utilizing the hall's entrance as the venue.

This event aims to provide an opportunity for parents and children, who might find concert halls intimidating, to easily experience authentic music.

By opening the hall's entrance widely to the community, we aim to create an "entryway to musical experience" for the next generation that anyone can participate in.

Admission is free (requires LINE registration and survey completion), and we aim for this to become a regular, ongoing community-focused event.

[About Shirakawa Hall]

"Shirakawa Hall," a classical music venue boasting world-class acoustics, was established in Nagoya's Fushimi district in 1994. After its closure in 2024, it has embarked on a path of "rebirth" under the management of SKI Inc., driven by over 12,000 citizen signatures and a new vision, beginning in Spring 2026.

A Unique Acoustic Space

The "shoebox" shape, the acoustic reflector "Ukigumo" suspended above the stage, and the meticulously designed wall textures create a clear, warm, and rich resonance. This maximizes the appeal of all types of performances, from solo and chamber music to orchestras. Furthermore, the introduction of individual "Fan Boxes" for seating has deepened the reverberation while delivering a clearer sound image.

Mission

With the mission to "Always challenge and resonate with society, playing感動 (kandou - emotion/inspiration) and the future," we aim to be more than just a performance venue, focusing on nurturing young artists and co-creating with the community and society.

We will also develop concerts utilizing open spaces such as the entrance and pilotis, not just the seating area. By creating an "entryway to musical experience" where anyone can easily encounter authentic acoustics in their daily lives, we will spread new vibrancy and rich resonance throughout the city of Nagoya.
