SingleID Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takaaki Ishikawa; hereafter "SingleID"), which provides the cloud authentication service "SingleID," announces the official release of SCIM integration with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).
With this feature, user and group information managed in Microsoft Entra ID is automatically synchronized to SingleID, enabling Wi-Fi and VPN authentication to be operated in the cloud without requiring on-premises authentication servers.
This reduces the need for traditional on-premises authentication infrastructure such as NPS, helping companies achieve zero-trust security and ease the operational burden on IT departments.
Background
Many companies have migrated user management to the cloud with Microsoft Entra ID, but Wi-Fi and VPN authentication still required on-premises environments such as NPS (Network Policy Server) and certificate distribution servers (NDES).
As a result, a fragmented configuration remained:
- ID management: cloud - Network authentication: on-premises
This led to burdens on IT departments including server maintenance, certificate management, and troubleshooting.
SingleID addresses this issue by providing a cloud-based RADIUS authentication platform integrated with Entra ID.
Overview of SingleID SCIM Integration
SingleID's SCIM integration automatically synchronizes user and group information managed in Entra ID.
The authentication platform uses SingleID Cloud RADIUS and private PKI, eliminating the need for on-premises authentication servers.
Additionally, via SCEP certificate profiles integrated with Microsoft Intune, certificates can be automatically distributed to Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android devices.
This enables secure EAP-TLS-based Wi-Fi authentication in a cloud-native configuration.
Key Features
1. Automatic synchronization via SCIM with Entra ID
User and group information added, changed, or deleted in Entra ID is automatically reflected in SingleID. This streamlines account management for new hires, transfers, and departures, and reduces duplicate management.
2. Cloud RADIUS authentication without NPS
SingleID Cloud RADIUS supports multiple authentication methods including EAP-TLS, PEAP, and EAP-TTLS. It provides Wi-Fi and VPN authentication from the cloud without the need for on-premises NPS servers.
3. Automatic certificate distribution via Intune integration
SingleID's private PKI integrates with Microsoft Intune's SCEP certificate profiles, automating certificate issuance and eliminating manual device configuration.
4. Zero-trust access control
Access control is based on users and devices, with support for dynamic VLANs. Certificate-based authentication reduces risks from unauthorized devices and credential leaks, supporting zero-trust network architecture.
Benefits
- Reduction in on-premises authentication server operations: Eliminates Windows Server operations for NPS and NDES, promoting cloud-based authentication infrastructure. - Reduction in IT department workload: Automates certificate distribution and account synchronization, reducing Wi-Fi connection setups and authentication-related inquiries. - Enhanced security: Combines identity and certificate-based authentication for secure network access control.
Launch Date
This feature is scheduled for release on June 8, 2026. It supports Microsoft Entra ID P1/P2 environments and is available as a standard feature of SingleID.
Future Outlook
SingleID will continue to strengthen integration with various security services and endpoint management products as an authentication platform supporting companies' cloud migration and zero-trust security.
By offering ID management, certificate management, and network authentication on a single cloud platform, SingleID aims to reduce authentication infrastructure operational burden and enhance security simultaneously.
About SingleID
