Event Report: Exhibited at 'Kodomo Shigoto Expo® 2026 in Kumamoto' on May 31 (Sun)

On May 31, 2026 (Sunday), our company exhibited at the first-ever 'Kodomo Shigoto Expo® 2026 in Kumamoto' held at GranMesse Kumamoto, hosted by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company. Aligned with the event's concept of 'inspiring local career choices and dreams through encounters with admirable local professionals, fostering deeper affection and pride in Kumamoto,' we operated a booth titled 'What is IT? Choose Your Programming Experience!' for preschoolers and elementary school children. Over 200 children participated in the hands-on activities, and the event concluded with great success.

● Learn 'What is IT?' through Picture Books and Interactive Panels

To make waiting time educational, we prepared picture books summarizing what IT is, allowing parents and children to read together. Additionally, we installed interactive panels themed around 'inside the home,' 'inside the school,' and 'inside the town,' creating a fun corner where children could lift flaps to discover IT systems in their daily lives.

Children enthusiastically explored the panels while learning about IT mechanisms.

● Choose-Your-Own Programming Experience

We offered two age-appropriate programming experiences: 'Risu-san's Puzzle (Logical Route Puzzle)' and 'Scratch,' allowing children to select based on their age.

The experience corner remained continuously busy, with children enjoying hands-on programming.

Children focused intently on arranging blocks, and their faces lit up with joyful smiles when their programs ran successfully.

● Office-Style Photo Booth

Recreating an employee desk using actual photos from our Tokyo branch, we set up a photo booth with a stylish office chair, allowing children to take photos as if they were system engineers.

Parents enthusiastically took photos of their children happily touching keyboards and moving mice.

About Kodomo Shigoto Expo®

'Kodomo Shigoto Expo®' is a children's career experience workshop initiated by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Executive Officer: Eiki Nagashima) in collaboration with CHEERS Inc. (Head Office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Tomoko Shirai), local governments, and regional companies. It addresses social challenges related to 'children's environments' and 'the future of local communities.' Local companies, organizations, and municipalities gather to operate experiential booths, enabling children to directly interact with 'cool local adults' to cultivate affection and pride in their hometowns and inspire future career aspirations.

Since its first launch in Niigata Prefecture in 2023, the event has expanded nationwide. As of March 2026, it has reached approximately 18,434 parent-child pairs through around 416 participating companies across 15 municipalities in Japan.
