PlnX Inc. (PlnX Inc. - Plan X Co., Ltd., Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Sera Okamoto) announced the exhibition and limited sale of 'THE MANEKI,' a Kutani ware art object reinterpreted with modern art, at Lavish, a luxury bar lounge in Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku.
"That moment marks the beginning of everything."
THE MANEKI is a fusion of Maneki-neko (beckoning cat) and modern art, co-created by a Kutani ware studio in Ishikawa Prefecture, known for its traditional crafts, and PlnX Inc. Modern art has become an indispensable presence in the world's luxury and nightlife scenes.
Through dialogue with Lavish, we have realized the exhibition and sale of THE MANEKI, a reborn Maneki-neko, in Shibuya, a hub for new culture from Tokyo to the world, targeting many foreign tourists, Japanese business owners, DJs, artists, and idols. THE MANEKI is born as an art piece that invites good fortune and blends into lifestyles.
Based on the techniques of Kutani ware, which boasts over 100 years of history, it was created as an attempt to redefine the meaning of "en" (connections/luck) in modern times. In places where people interact and values intersect, its presence is not merely decorative but symbolizes the relationships themselves.
Night spaces are places where people genuinely connect. Music, emotion, impulse, and serendipity. In a place where all of these intersect, the act of "beckoning" regains its original meaning.
It creates a crossroads where traditional crafts, which previously had no contact, meet nightlife culture. By overlapping conservatively preserved techniques with changing modern culture, new value is created. Alongside music, art, and culture that captivate the world, with nightclubs as its primary base, it aims to be a presence that supports challengers such as artists, entrepreneurs, artists, rappers, and athletes who fight with their individual charm as their weapon.
PlnX Inc., based on the belief that "Japanese traditional industries can be conveyed to the world," continues to shine a spotlight from a different angle on shrinking industries.
THE MANEKI, as its symbol, steps into places where it has never existed before. Tradition is not something to be protected, but something that, only when updated, leaves its form for future generations.

"It is a great honor to hold this exhibition at Lavish, which symbolizes Tokyo's nightlife. THE MANEKI brings new meaning to a space where Maneki-neko has never existed before. The value of traditional crafts is not something to be discussed only within a fixed context. I believe that by interacting with different cultures, its essence will be conveyed more strongly and broadly."
[Lavish Tokyo]
"Lavish Tokyo has always provided guests with 'authentic experiences' that transcend existing frameworks. When we encountered 'THE MANEKI,' a Kutani ware art object with 100 years of history, we deeply resonated with its overwhelming presence and philosophy. In the rapidly changing night of Dogenzaka, we are confident that the unchanging beauty of tradition and the brilliance emitted by innovative materials will stimulate the sensibilities of visiting VVIPs, making it a unique art piece. We believe that this THE MANEKI is the world's first Maneki-neko to be actually exhibited and sold in a nightclub/night lounge.
Lavish Tokyo will continue to provide customers with fresh experiences never before seen."
