■ Project Background

Based on interpretation plans in each national park, the value of this project lies in providing 'an unforgettable, unique, moving experience by understanding the condensed story of diverse natural landscapes, life, culture, and history'. Through this, the project aims to contribute to the inbound targets of the Tourism Nation Promotion Basic Plan, promote a virtuous cycle of nature conservation and utilization, and provide national park users with moving and educational experiences that bring about changes in awareness and behavior.

■ Product Features

Disseminating the globally rare natural environment of Tateyama, including the southernmost glaciers on earth and volcanoes, from an academic perspective

Reconstructing the history of mountain worship, folk culture, and modern-day life into attractive experiential content

Designed as a travel product that does not cause overtourism by targeting MICE participants

Realizing 'regenerative tourism' by allocating 10% of the tour sales to environmental conservation

■ Product Overview

In the tour created through this project, participants can stand on a glacier with Mr. Hajime Iida (Curator, Tateyama Caldera Sabo Museum, Toyama Prefecture), the discoverer of Japan's first glacier, and cast their thoughts back to the earth hundreds of millions of years ago. Additionally, we will construct an unparalleled story that connects people's lives and feelings, such as the threat of volcanoes seen in the Tateyama Caldera and Jigokudani, and the mountain worship born against the backdrop of overwhelming nature.

By setting the target to the MICE* industry, we ensure solid customer attraction up to two or three years in advance. While avoiding overtourism, approaching an industry with high dissemination power domestically and internationally will contribute to improving the recognition of Japan's attractive national parks.

Furthermore, as a model of 'regenerative tourism' that allocates 10% of tour sales to environmental conservation, we will promote a 'virtuous cycle of protection and utilization' connecting to the future of national parks.

*MICE is an acronym for Meetings (corporate meetings), Incentive Travel (reward/training trips by companies), Conventions (international conferences held by international organizations, academic societies, etc.), and Exhibitions/Events, and is a collective term for business events expected to gather large audiences and facilitate exchange.
