Maristo Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Taichi Abe), which has been providing tiles that adorn spaces, will begin handling new upholstery fabrics from Monday, June 1, 2026. Our partner is "Crevin," a fabric brand that conducts integrated in-house production in Terrassa, Spain (near Barcelona). The company offers high-quality fabrics born from Mediterranean-inspired design, high durability and maintainability, and a philosophy of minimizing environmental impact.
Why a Tile Brand is Handling "Fabrics"
Modern architects and designers do not simply choose finished products; they emphasize creation by carefully selecting and combining materials. We, Maristo, respect the role of such architects and designers and have sought to provide better material options that stimulate their inspiration. We want to be a "Marche (market)" where carefully selected materials, not just tiles, gather from our unique perspective. As a first step, we are entering the field of "upholstery fabrics," which significantly influences the quality of a space but has had limited options until now.
Encounter with "Crevin," a Sustainable Fabric Manufacturer from Spain
"Crevin," our first partner in this new venture, is a brand based near Barcelona, Spain. The biggest reason we resonated with them and were moved was their thorough commitment to environmental issues. They produce beautiful designs inspired by the rich colors, light, and atmosphere unique to the Mediterranean, all in-house without external委托. This system ensures the traceability, which is strongly demanded in space creation, of "where and how it was made." They practice thorough sustainable initiatives, such as minimizing wastewater during production, reusing cutting scraps (selvage) as backing fabric instead of discarding them, and operating their factory with 100% renewable energy.
Features of "Performance+" Boasting Excellent Maintainability and Durability
The "Crevin" fabrics we proudly offer are equipped with a function called "Performance+" (Performance Plus). Here are some of its features:
1. Durability and Comfort Provided by "Double-Weave Structure"
We adopt a double-weave structure where the backing fabric, woven by reusing scraps (selvage) generated during the production process, is integrated with the face fabric using only threads. Since no adhesive is used, there is no concern about peeling due to aging, achieving excellent strength. It also has high breathability, maintaining a comfortable sitting experience that is less prone to stuffiness.
This "Performance+" fabric has cleared strict durability tests by AITEX*1 (Spanish Textile Industry Research Institute), assuming all indoor environments and usage scenarios, proving its reliable quality.

2. Easy Daily Maintenance
Special fibers that are resistant to dirt are used, and a hydrophilic anti-fouling polymer formed on the surface blocks the penetration of dirt. The synergistic effect with the aforementioned double-weave structure keeps dirt on the surface, reducing the burden of daily maintenance.
Due to these high maintainability and durability, it can be safely adopted in contract environments such as offices and hotels. While meeting high functionality and environmental considerations, costs are optimized through integrated in-house production. We offer it at a "fair price" that allows designers to freely develop their ideas without compromising creativity.
Future Developments and Exhibition Information
Maristo will continue to be a "Trend Marche," bringing material options and inspiration to everyone involved in space creation. We will support next-generation space creation through material proposals that consider the global environment.
"Crevin" fabrics introduced this time can be seen and touched at our event held on Thursday, June 4th and Friday, June 5th, 2026. New tile products will also be exhibited at the venue. Please look forward to new spatial proposals combining tiles and fabrics.
