sodahata (operated by Louvy Inc., based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "the Company") announces the renewal of its brand and its transition into a business entity, moving beyond its previous activities as the "Sodateru Hataraku Project." To implement support for work-life integration as a sustainable business rather than just a project, the Company will focus on three core pillars: corporate service "for," the community "WITH.," and parent-child co-existence space production "at," aiming to build mechanisms that reach more people.
Aiming for infrastructure building and social implementation.
■ Background of Rebranding
sodahata (formerly "Sodateru Hataraku Project") is undergoing a full brand renewal to aim for social implementation in a more sustainable form as a business entity.
In Japan, where the birthrate is declining, balancing parenting and work is not just an issue for a specific group of people. The situation where parents raising children become isolated or are forced to give up their careers is a structural problem that drains social vitality.
In our hearing survey, "Let's talk about working while raising children," which also serves as our research base, the following voices were raised by those working while raising children:
"It was a huge wall to figure out how to maintain the quality and speed of my work and keep my professional credibility while cherishing the parenting I idealize."
"If I were gone, wouldn't they find a replacement immediately? I was more afraid of losing my income and position than anything else."
"Even in the same job type and company, I felt I couldn't move as freely if I were in a different department. That was just luck."
As these voices show, balancing parenting and work is not just a theme for those raising children. It is an important theme for creating economic circulation while nurturing the next generation. For companies, it is an organizational issue for talent to continue demonstrating their abilities. For regions, it is an opportunity to create relationships with people. And for children, seeing their parents hold roles in society and live while taking on challenges is an opportunity to encounter the breadth of the world and future choices.
That is why we first raise our flag to widely communicate that "balancing parenting and work" is a social issue.
Leveraging the knowledge we have co-created with many partners, including companies, governments, and regions, we will deliver "mechanisms for a society where parenting and work can coexist" in a stronger form.
■ About the New Brand
In this rebranding, we have renewed the logotype to an English font.
The uppercase "H" used in the logo is a connection part in "sodahata," representing the connection point between people, between raising children and working, and between individuals and society. The renewal to an English font also contains the intention of aiming for a brand that reaches a more diverse range of people and organizations flatly, regardless of industry or position.
In addition, we will adopt an irregularly shaped circle that changes organically as a design motif, inheriting the background lines of the old logo. We will express our philosophy as a brand that fosters new relationships while changing according to the people involved and the initiatives, without being bound by fixed forms.
Based on research and co-creation with companies and local governments
sodahata has been conducting research activities based on the perspective of those raising children as a team where many such individuals gather. Together with diverse partners such as local governments, companies, and educational platforms, we have conducted demonstrations of parent-child co-existence spaces and training and dissemination regarding the balance between parenting and work.
◆ Green Globe Partners "Social Design Conference Facing the Declining Birthrate"
(Organizer: Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc., Accompanying Support: Loftwork Inc.)
In a demonstration experiment involving various companies related to child-rearing, we created a "situation where children are in the workplace." We have been repeating co-creation and implementation toward solving social issues together with diverse partners such as governments and companies, including providing on-site implementation support and advice for the demonstration experiments.

◆ Schoo Class "Working while raising children"

We held an online course to think about the balance between parenting and work from multiple angles based on the real intentions of those involved and corporate case studies. A wide range of people, from those raising children to managers and HR personnel, took the course.

As these initiatives show, by facing social issues from the field, we have realized the depth and breadth of the issue of "balancing parenting and work," and have strongly felt the necessity of rooting it in society as a mechanism.
Three businesses that create mechanisms ── for / WITH. / at
■ Future Activities and Three Businesses
sodahata will proceed with development focusing on three businesses in the future.
"for": Researching and implementing the coexistence of parenting and work with companies
"WITH.": Sharing the way of "working" while "raising"
"at": Parent-child co-existence space production
Each plays a unique role, and they are organically connected as a platform called sodahata.
"for" ─ Researching and implementing the coexistence of parenting and work with companies
"for" is a service for companies. We accompany them as a partner to create organizations where employees during pregnancy, childcare leave, return to work, and child-rearing periods can continue to work, and to change social mechanisms.
Based on the voices of those involved, we dig up "what is truly needed," provide training and workshops to support the creation of organizations that do not separate parenting and work, and conduct research to deepen issues, approaching from the inside of companies and organizations.
🚩 We are also looking for partners to create new welfare services together!
We are looking for partners (companies) who are willing to cooperate with us in unraveling issues together, from hearing about responses to employees raising children, organizational issues, and corporate culture! We welcome any trigger, such as "I'd like to hear more details," "I'm somewhat interested," or "I want to support you"!

"WITH." ─ Sharing the way of "working" while "raising"
"WITH." is an SNS media/community that questions how to be and shapes it while looking at the daily reality of balancing parenting and work.
Not because you have children or because you are busy with work, but while accepting that reality, you do not give up on your life or work. Balancing parenting and work in a flexible and sophisticated way. Based on real voices, we are disseminating various ways of family life and daily questions of working while raising children.
It is a place where role models who can think "there is such a way of being" are gradually formed, and it grows into a community where people with the same feeling are loosely connected.

"at" ─ Parent-child co-existence space production
"at" is a parent-child co-existence space production business. While respecting that both children and adults are "there," we are creating spaces where each can participate in society in a way that fits them.
The naming "at" contains the meaning that discoveries and experiences that make you "surprised" are born. We create places where you can connect with society even while raising children from the field, and aim for both parents and children to meet the world together with experience.

Toward a society that can affirm diverse ways of living
■ From Ayaka Kasai, Founder of "sodahata"
Raising ── It is fulfilling one's role while cherishing what one wants to cherish.
Working ── It is participating in society, demonstrating one's own identity, and fulfilling one's role.
These two should be a series of lives that cannot be cut off, but they have been treated as separate things in society. While raising my 2 and 3-year-old children, I have hit walls I couldn't do anything about many times.
Ever since we started our activities as the "Sodateru Hataraku Project," we have been listening to the voices of those involved. What we saw there is that the root of the problem is in the "structure of society" that cannot be overcome by individual efforts and ingenuity.
We will not change our stance of being close to each individual.
But there is a limit to the number of people we can reach with that alone.
We decided to commercialize this time with the conviction that we want to change the daily lives of more people by changing from the mechanism.
There is one thing we value.
Going out into society while raising children is ultimately a free choice of the individual. We do not want to force the value of "you must work." There are diverse ways of living, and each person's life is spun in its own way. We want to be in a stance that can affirm all of that.
A society where "raising" and "working" overlap as a matter of course, not as something special.
sodahata is taking the next step to create that mechanism.
