■Supporting Self-Driven Musicians Who Don't Give Up Their Curiosity with a Unique Copyright Management System and Mechanisms for Work Utilization

DICT Music DAO Classics believes that musicians' curiosity, or intrinsic motivation, is the driving force behind innovative works. Therefore, it primarily adopts a free creative system for composers, without setting deadlines or giving directional instructions (however, the basic policy is that the music should be "intuitively enjoyable for listeners and performers"). Furthermore, to ensure these pieces stimulate performers' curiosity and become works that will be played for generations, some subsidiary copyrights, such as "performance rights" (rights to perform at concerts, events, etc.), are released to community members. Through a community-driven mechanism that provides rewards based on contributions, we aim to create a fertile ground for a new classical music culture where music production and performance (utilization) circulate properly. This initiative also aims to broaden the repertoire for performers and support their independent activities by creating opportunities for recording, release, and performance.

This community (whose parent organization is a music publisher) employs a hybrid copyright management system, self-managing some subsidiary copyrights such as performance rights, while entrusting many other subsidiary copyrights to the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC). The goal is to maximize royalty income for composers by promoting the utilization of their works. For more details, please visit the "DICT Music DAO Classics" webpage or the crowdfunding page.
