"e-Spo GOMI" is an environmental conservation event that combines "e-sports," a competitive sport played on computers, with "Spo GOMI," a community service activity that adds elements of sport to trash collection. The aim is to raise awareness about the global issue of marine plastic waste. In this system, teams of three collect trash within a time limit, competing for points based on the amount and type of waste, allowing people of all ages, from children to adults, to enjoy participating in local clean-up efforts.
This third tournament followed the first event in December 2025 (Aomori) and the second in March 2026 (Tokyo, Gotanda). With the cooperation of Takashin Co., Ltd. (Location: Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture; Representative Director: Takayuki Funamizu), which sponsored the previous tournament, this event was held at the company's Takashin Cultural Center in Hirakawa City. On the day of the event, many people, from children to adults, participated, making it a place to foster community connections and environmental awareness while having fun.

The glorious winner was "Team Hirakawa Jr.C"! They collected 12.06kg of trash and earned 1,723pt, overwhelmingly defeating the runner-up team by 861pt.
In total, all teams combined collected approximately 62.9kg of trash! It became a time for all participants to unite and think about the future of the local environment.
We participated with baseball club teammates (1 adult male, 2 elementary school students). The trash was near the parking lot of a commercial facility, by the fence. We didn't think there would be much, but we were surprised by how much there was. Among them, we felt there were many plastic bottles and cans. I usually don't pick up trash, but I participated because it was a sport. I was happy that the children enjoyed participating. The e-sports part was also fun, and although I'm an adult, I could play with the children, and I really enjoyed feeling the strategic differences and skill gaps.
We hosted "e-Spo GOMI with LIDEAL Aomori in Hirakawa City." This was our third event, and this time, thanks to the generosity of Takashin-sama, we were able to use the Takashin Cultural Center and challenge a new full-day event format: AED and disaster prevention training in the morning, followed by e-Spo GOMI in the afternoon.
As we continue to take on various challenges, we reaffirmed our desire to strengthen our efforts to clean up the entire Aomori region. The collection of 101 participants and approximately 62 kg of trash was all thanks to everyone who participated.
The next event will be on September 23rd (Wednesday, public holiday) in Hachinohe City, at Machiniwa.
We look forward to your continued support.
