"e-Spo GOMI" is an environmental conservation event that combines "esports," a competitive sport using computer games, with "Spo GOMI," a social service activity that adds elements of sport to litter cleanup, to raise awareness about the global issue of marine litter. The system involves teams of three collecting trash within a time limit and competing for points based on the quantity and type of trash, allowing both children and adults to enjoy community cleanup.
This third tournament followed the first event in December 2025 (Aomori) and the second in March 2026 (Tokyo, Gotanda). With the cooperation of Takashin Co., Ltd. (Location: Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture; Representative Director: Takayuki Funamizu), which sponsored the previous tournament, this event was held at the company's base, the "Takashin Culture Center" in Hirakawa City. On the day of the event, many participants, from children to adults, enjoyed fostering community connections and environmental awareness.

The day was blessed with clear, calm weather, perfect for litter cleanup! The smiles and energetic voices of the children brightened the venue, creating a consistently peaceful and cheerful atmosphere.
This tournament challenged a new initiative, conducting AED experience and disaster prevention lectures in the morning, followed by e-Spo GOMI in the afternoon. A total of 34 teams and 101 participants enjoyed the game, cooperating across age groups.
The glorious winner was "Team Hirakawa Jr.C"! They collected 12.06kg of trash and earned 1,723pt, overwhelmingly defeating the runner-up team by a margin of 861pt.
In addition, all teams combined collected approximately 62.9kg of trash! It became a time for all participants to unite and think about the future of the local environment.
We participated as teammates from a baseball club (1 adult male, 2 elementary school students). The trash was near the parking lot of a commercial facility, near the fence. We didn't think there would be much, but we were surprised by how much there was. Among them, we felt there were many plastic bottles and cans. We usually don't pick up trash, but we participated because it was a sport. We were happy that the children enjoyed participating. Esports was also fun, and although I think it's for the adult generation, we could do it with the children, and I really enjoyed feeling the strategic differences and skill gaps.
We held "e-Spo GOMI with LIDEAL Aomori in Hirakawa City." This was our third event, and this time, thanks to the generosity of Takashin-sama, we were able to borrow the Takashin Culture Center and challenge a new full-day event format: AED and disaster prevention lectures in the morning, followed by e-Spo GOMI in the afternoon.
Through various challenges, we reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening the framework for cleaning up the entire Aomori region. The collection of 101 people and approximately 62 kg of trash was thanks to all the participants.
The next event will be on September 23rd (public holiday Wednesday) in Hachinohe City. The venue will be Machiniwa.
We look forward to your continued support.
