Legalscape Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Itsuki Yagita, hereinafter "Legalscape") has added current laws (articles) recorded in e-Gov to the search and reference scope of its AI research on the legal research platform "Legalscape," commencing service on June 11, 2026. This enables "Legalscape" to provide an environment where users can cross-search and reference books, cases, guidelines, and laws (articles) on a single platform.
Background
Legal practice requires researchers to investigate by cross-referencing laws, books, cases, and guidelines. Previously, "Legalscape" generated research results by referencing books, guidelines, and cases, and displayed laws (articles) as related laws.
With this update, current laws (articles) recorded in e-Gov have been added to the AI research reference scope. The significant expansion in the number of laws that can be referenced has established a system for centrally searching and referencing books, guidelines, cases, and laws (articles) on Legalscape.
Update Details
Support for Searching and Referencing Laws (Articles): In addition to books, guidelines, and cases, AI will now target current laws recorded in e-Gov for AI research, enabling the search and reference of the articles themselves.
Improved Research Accuracy: By directly referencing primary information such as laws, AI can provide summaries with clearer grounds. This aims to further improve the accuracy and comprehensiveness of legal research.

Following the release, we have received feedback from several users.
Law Firm (Attorney) "There were cases where the AI summarized based on old laws, creating a duplication of effort by having to search again using a different method. It is extremely helpful to have a specification that allows cross-research of legal documents, including current laws, with a single tool."
