FORMEI Announces 2nd Collection and First Exhibition at Copenhagen's '3daysofdesign' Festival

In this exhibition, alongside the new collection, FORMEI will express the minimal and quiet beauty that the brand cherishes throughout the entire space. Through textures, silhouettes, and the aesthetics of negative space, the display is structured for visitors to fully experience the brand's worldview. Through this exhibition, a new challenge for the brand, FORMEI will convey its philosophy to both domestic and international audiences.

Collection Theme: Forming the Invisible
Invisible things build space.

Atmosphere, weight, accumulated time, human thoughts—though intangible, they are undeniably present. The aura drifting within silence, the subtle weight of materials felt on the skin, the time touched by human hands—these invisible elements quietly form the contours of a space. FORMEI addresses the question of how to give form to these 'invisible things.'

The traditional wisdom of Japan—carrying, assembling, and continuing use—is a philosophy born from the premise that objects and people interact over long periods. Fittings are removed, columns are moved, and materials evolve in shape while being passed to new spaces. There is no concept of 'completion.' Objects are always 'in progress,' continuously updating their form through human touch and time. This flexible structural perspective of Japanese architecture embodies a question that transcends mere efficiency or function.

Wood changes with every touch, negative space gains meaning through human presence, and structure rewrites space through movement. Invisible things reside not in fixed forms, but within the process of change—memories in materials, voids in structures, and new relationships born from mobility. These are all moments where the invisible wears a form.

Neither products nor spaces are ever 'completed' here. Space is born in the instant when people, objects, and time intersect. We design that very experience.

What is '3daysofdesign'?
Held in Copenhagen, '3daysofdesign' is one of the largest international design festivals in Northern Europe, bringing together fashion, lifestyle, and interior design brands from around the world. It is highly regarded as a venue for launching new brands and cultures, attracting discerning buyers, press, and creators.

In 2026, it is scheduled for June 10 (Wed) – June 12 (Fri). The venues are spread across showrooms, galleries, and shops throughout Copenhagen.

FORMEI will be part of the 'DESIGN / DIALOGUE' exhibition, curated and hosted by the international design media 'Ark Journal.'

'Den Frie,' located in central Copenhagen, is a historic wooden exhibition hall built in 1898 by artist Vilhelm Hammershøi and his associates. It houses six exhibition spaces, one of which will feature FORMEI.

Based in Copenhagen, Ark Journal is a design media outlet covering architecture, interiors, art, and fashion, highly supported by the global design community for its minimalist perspective and Nordic aesthetics.

Exhibition Content
We aim to create a structure where visitors can feel the space itself as an 'experience' by capturing quiet moments of daily life. We will also treat visitors to Japanese sake and tea, creating a space to enjoy the atmosphere and the slow flow of Japanese time. All vessels used in the exhibition are works by ceramic artist Shinsaku Nakazono. These vessels, which hold a quiet presence while blending into daily life, bring depth and negative space to the entire venue.
