KADOKAWA Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President, and CEO: Takeshi Natsuno) released 'Tomodachi Bengoshi Ricca: The Transfer Student is an Ally of Justice!?' (written by Hiiro Yumeno, illustrated by Nanase Kiriumi) from its children's literature label, Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

This work is a revised and retitled version of the Gold Prize winner of the 13th Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko Novel Award.

Ricca Mutsunori, a transfer student, is a 6th grader who aspires to be a "lawyer." With her "Roppo Zensho" (a compilation of the six major codes of Japanese law) in hand, she tackles one school incident after another. This is a school story where an unyielding heroine actively defends her friends to uncover the truth! It's sure to be exhilarating and heartwarming.

Author's Message To you: "You are an irreplaceable being"—I always wanted to convey this message while writing this story.

If you are hurt or have unpleasant feelings, it's okay to speak up and say, "This is wrong." When you're in trouble, it's okay to rely on those around you and say, "Please help me." Ricca's story contains the wish that you can live healthily while cherishing yourself. Ricca is always on your side, your friend.

And to all adults: It takes great courage for a child to say, "Help me." I would be happy if you could gently listen to their voice.

Story Introduction My dream, Ricca Mutsunori, is to become a cool lawyer!

I'm a 6th grader who gets mistaken for a 1st grader because I'm "small," but inside, I'm full of legal knowledge and an unyielding spirit. I'll never overlook incidents that happen at my new school! The "Cursed Letter Incident" and the "Homework God Incident." Are the kids suspected of being the culprits really guilty!? I'm tired of being silent when I feel uneasy. To uncover the truth, let's have an "Assistance Trial"!! Of course, I'll be the lawyer for the troubled kids—!
