We want to reduce the number of athletes who have to give up their challenges due to pain and injury, even by one.

Injuries still occur endlessly in many sports and teams. Athletes who enthusiastically continue stretching and never skip cooling down still suffer repeated injuries. They can't get into peak condition for important matches. Such realities still overflow in the sports field today.

This is by no means because athletes are neglecting their efforts, but because the root causes of injuries have not been resolved. Before considering what to do or what the correct method is, there is an overlooked question.

'In what state does the body suffer an injury?'

Without understanding this fundamental mechanism, no amount of accumulated care or training can break the chain of injuries. Before looking for the 'correct method', one must know the cause. This thought process is the starting point toward zero injuries.

Given this background, we chose the method of distributing a small guidebook for free so that the fundamental mechanisms of injuries could first be widely known.

It is B6 size, making it easy to carry around.

Providing know-how that has actually achieved 'zero injuries'

Takashi Nakano, the representative of JARTA who created the 'Zero Injury Guidebook' this time, supported the performance of athletes as the physical coach for the Japan National Blind Soccer Team at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. For about six years under Nakano's support, they achieved zero dropouts—meaning zero injuries—due to muscle tears or ligament damage. (Excluding dropouts due to contusions). In his individual support, he has also achieved zero injuries for many professional athletes, including professional baseball and J-Leaguers.

Furthermore, the supervisor Ryosuke Akayama has also achieved zero injuries over multiple years across numerous teams, including a corporate basketball team and a national volleyball team (under-category).

Beyond Takashi Nakano and Ryosuke Akayama, many trainers with JARTA certification have achieved zero injuries in numerous sports settings. The 'Zero Injury Guidebook' compiles the 'wisdom to achieve zero injuries', accumulated over approximately 15 years of supporting everyone from elementary school students to professionals, into expressions that are easy to understand even for those without specialized knowledge.

Why distribute it for free?

'We want to do something about athlete injuries. But we don't have the budget to invite an expert.'

Such voices still exist in great numbers on the sports field. Although the internet is flooded with information on injury prevention, much of it asserts the superiority of specific methods or manual techniques, and does not answer the fundamental question of 'why injuries occur'.

As a result, a disparity is created in the occurrence and management of injuries between teams that can secure experts and training facilities, and those that cannot. Differences in the economic environment directly translate into differences in physical risks for the athletes. We believe this structure should not exist in the sports field.

To change this situation, we focused on the 'stage before an injury occurs'. Deeply understanding the physical state that makes one prone to injury and its mechanism requires no special equipment or highly specialized knowledge. It only asks 'whether you know it or not'.

Delivering that knowledge to the teams and athletes who need it. That is the reason we distribute this guidebook for free.

We distributed 5,500 copies for free to coaches and athletes nationwide, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.

About JARTA, creator of the Zero Injury Guidebook

Since its establishment in 2013, JARTA is a sports trainer organization specializing in the essential performance improvement and injury prevention of athletes. Currently, there are about 150 certified sports trainers nationwide, supporting a wide range of athletes regardless of sport, age, or level.

JARTA starts from deeply observing the athlete as a 'human being with a complex system'. It supports performance enhancement through a unique approach combining 'creating the internal body environment'—meticulously conditioning the internal foundation of the body—and 'body operation training'—learning and training movements to optimally transmit energy on top of that foundation.
