IKASAS DESIGN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative: Shuhei Murakami) has announced the unit shelf "CASSETTE" (hereinafter, CASSETTE), which proposes a new storage style. This was developed through Fukuoka Prefecture's "Furniture Brand Power Improvement Support Project - NIKAWA -" in collaboration with Heisei Co., Ltd. (Location: Mizuma-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative: Takako Saida) and RoomClip Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director CEO: Masahiko Takashige).
Unit Shelf "CASSETTE"
"CASSETTE," Storage Designed by Users
This product is a completely new type of storage that does not use metal fittings (slide rails) commonly found in storage furniture. Instead, it consists of removable rails and four types of box units. Users can change shelves and drawers as needed to adapt to changes in family structure and lifestyle.

■ Development Story
The "CASSETTE" storage, designed by users, was born through the "Furniture Brand Power Improvement Support Project - NIKAWA -" in Fukuoka Prefecture, a collaboration between furniture manufacturer Heisei Co., Ltd., design company IKASAS DESIGN, and SNS operating company RoomClip Inc.
As lifestyles change, the role required of storage also changes. Instead of making large additional purchases or replacements to adapt to these changes, the goal was to create a storage solution that users themselves can configure according to their lives and continue to use by freely recombining its elements.
By designing a mechanism that allows the storage method to be changed with a single system, we have realized storage furniture that can flexibly adapt to changes in daily life.
Depending on the combination, school bags can be stored perfectly. Boxes can also be used individually.
■ Product Development Utilizing SNS Posting Data
As a first attempt for the NIKAWA project, product development was carried out from a "consumer perspective" by utilizing SNS posting data in collaboration with SNS operating company RoomClip Inc.
RoomClip Inc. provided Heisei Co., Ltd. with analysis results on storage needs, primarily among child-rearing generations, and how furniture is used in living spaces, based on posting data to "RoomClip," an SNS specializing in living environments.
Based on these results, Heisei Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Interior Research Institute and Kyushu Sangyo University's Faculty of Art, established the product concept of "storage furniture that reduces housework with a little ingenuity and creates余裕 in daily life." IKASAS DESIGN then refined this concept and designed the product.

By interchanging four types of box units of different heights, the system can accommodate various stored items and living scenarios. The boxes are very lightweight, so they can be removed from the main unit and used as trays or individual storage boxes.
Small shelf drawer
Medium drawer, large drawer
Accessories and prints can be stored in the small drawers
POINT (3) Three Color Options for Organization
The front panels of the box units are available in three colors: "Oak," "Terracotta," and "Gray." Users can visually categorize items by person or type of stored item.

"CASSETTE" was born under the concept of "designable storage."
Existing storage furniture has a fixed drawer configuration, which limits what can be stored and how it can be used. "CASSETTE" allows each user to creatively store and display various items of different uses and shapes. Additionally, purposes can be separated by color.
