IDOM to Develop its First Commercial Complex: Signs Agreement with Minami-Alps City, Yamanashi for 'Sustainable Commercial Facility'

IDOM, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), operator of the "Gulliver" used car chain, announced that it has been selected as the developer for the central area of the "Minami-Alps Interchange Surrounding Development Project" promoted by Minami-Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and has signed a location agreement with the city.

As the developer, IDOM is taking on the challenge of creating its first full-scale commercial complex in collaboration with companies across clothing, food, housing, and other sectors that resonate with the project's concept.

▶ IDOM's New "Sustainable Commercial Facility"

IDOM has long defined its corporate value as contributing to a sustainable society through used car distribution, pursuing business that connects value to the next generation. This new initiative expands the cultivation of "reuse culture" beyond cars into general lifestyle. Believing that realizing a circular society is an essential step for future generations, IDOM is taking a leadership role through this new commercial facility.

This facility centers its business on realizing a circular society. Aiming to be a place beyond a simple mall, it strives to foster interaction, experience, and cultural inheritance for local families and visitors from a wide area. Through reuse, it aims to update "towns, people, and jobs," creating a hub where life becomes freer and more affluent in Minami-Alps.

Based on the concept of "Update Your Life Freely with Reuse," the facility plans to develop the following areas:

・Lifestyle Update Hub with Reuse & Sustainable Brands
We will develop a shopping area that proposes a life of long-term use for favorites, from clothing and interior goods to mobility such as used cars. We will invite brands that focus on environmental friendliness, including repair and recycling, as well as those dealing in reused products. We plan a lineup that includes Japan's leading outdoor brands and trend-setting select shops, some making their first appearance in the prefecture.

・"Kids' Area" for Play and Intellectual Curiosity
This is an all-weather kids' area, one of the largest in the prefecture, blending play and learning.
The outdoor plaza features "inclusive play equipment" accessible regardless of disability or physical ability, creating a space for children to move dynamically in an open environment.
Indoors, we plan to feature the prefecture's first domestic digital art facility, alongside a learning facility designed to nurture future-building skills through vocational experience. This creates a space where parents and children can spend time safely year-round, regardless of season or weather.

・Food & Book Museum Area for New Culinary Experiences
This is a vibrant food area bringing together popular chains and new-to-Yamanashi offerings. We offer a rich variety of choices so that people of all generations can enjoy the experience. We aim to create a new local rest spot where dining out feels special, through spatial staging that reflects Minami-Alps City's charm and eco-conscious services.
Also included is a book museum boasting one of the largest collections of picture books and children's books in Japan, nurturing new sensibilities in children within an open space.

・Central Commons for Interaction and Excitement
Located in the center of the mall, the vast Central Commons creates an entertainment space where families take center stage. Possibilities are infinite, from music festivals and local festivals to flea markets and events linked with the adjacent "fumotto".
