The three companies—ICOMA Inc., Hagiwara Electronics Co., Ltd., and Nabari Holdings Co., Ltd.—have launched the 'Mobility Co-creation Project,' a project aimed at popularizing startup ideas in society, and have signed a basic agreement.
ICOMA Inc., a startup whose flagship product is the foldable electric bike 'ICOMA Tatamel Bike,' is planning various mobility solutions beyond this product. This project aims to deliver our designs and plans to users more safely, securely, and at appropriate prices by co-creating with Hagiwara Electronics Co., Ltd. and Nabari Holdings Co., Ltd., both of which have extensive experience in quality control, procurement, assembly, and SCM construction.
Co-creation Theme
'From Work to Product'
We will refine various idea works created by hardware startups from the perspective of manufacturing technology, including auto parts, and release them to the world as attractive products. This alliance will start with the following projects, regularly disseminating information and achieving goals while reflecting user feedback.
(1) Manufacturing/Procurement Collaboration including Tatamel Bike
This is a collaboration aimed at delivering ICOMA products, such as the foldable electric bike 'ICOMA Tatamel Bike,' to users more safely and securely. Hagiwara Electronics Co., Ltd. will handle parts procurement and SCM construction, which are often weak points for startups, while Nabari Holdings Co., Ltd. will be in charge of assembly and quality control.
(2) Compact Sports Car Co-creation Project
The compact sports car co-creation project involves the joint development and sales by the three companies of a compact sports car based on 'Self-Made,' developed by ICOMA mechanic Sora Toyonaga.
'Self-Made' is a vehicle classified as a mini-car, a standard for ultra-compact vehicles capable of driving on public roads. Toyonaga is responsible for the engineering and production, while ICOMA is in charge of design and production.
Previously, Self-Made was sold on a build-to-order basis. However, in this project, the three companies will establish a system to review the design, such as specifications and parts, and elevate it to a highly precise product level.
ICOMA will handle product planning, design development, and engineering; Nabari Holdings will handle the implementation of manufacturing technology, such as mass production process design, manufacturing technology, and quality/mass production management; and Hagiwara Electronics will be in charge of business support and procurement, including opening up material procurement routes and building SCM.
