Fuufuu Inc. (Headquarters: Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative: Takagi), which operates the temple decoupling and tomb dismantling proxy service 'Our Tomb Dismantling' (https://kaiso.or.jp/haka/), conducted a 'Survey on the Reality of Decoupling Fees (Ofuse)' among 100 men and women who have experienced tomb dismantling.

In this survey, questions were set regarding:
- Whether decoupling fees (Ofuse) were paid
- The actual amount paid (for those who paid)
- The circumstances behind not paying (for those who did not pay)
- Troubles with temples over decoupling
- Awareness / utilization / satisfaction / intent to use decoupling proxy services
and the response results were aggregated.

In this release, we publish the survey results focusing on the selection trends for each question and the points confirmed from the results.
The chart materials can also be used as reference materials for reporting and article production.

1. 76.00% paid a decoupling fee (Ofuse) accompanying tomb dismantling
When 100 people who had experienced tomb dismantling were asked, 'Did you pay a decoupling fee (Ofuse) accompanying your tomb dismantling?', 76 people (76.00%) answered 'Paid'.
On the other hand, 13 people (13.00%) answered 'Did not pay', and 11 people (11.00%) answered 'There was no need to decouple'.
While about 3 out of 4 people paid a decoupling fee, about 1 out of 4 did not incur any payment.
It is evident that there is a certain number of cases where decoupling procedures are originally unnecessary, such as in public cemeteries or spirit parks not affiliated with a temple.

[Breakdown (Number of people)] (n=100)
- Paid: 76 people (76.00%)
- Did not pay: 13 people (13.00%)
- There was no need to decouple: 11 people (11.00%)

2. The most common actual amount paid was '100,000 to under 500,000 yen'
When the 76 people who answered they 'Paid' were asked the 'actual amount paid', the most common was '100,000 to under 500,000 yen' with 38 people (50.00%).
This was followed by '50,000 to under 100,000 yen' with 20 people (26.32%), and 'Under 50,000 yen' with 15 people (19.74%).
Since the most common price range is '100,000 yen or more', it can be seen that decoupling fees mainly involve a certain financial burden.
On the other hand, '500,000 yen or more' was limited to 3 people (3.95%), showing extremely high cases were limited.
A trend was confirmed where decoupling fees are distributed around '100,000 to under 500,000 yen', accompanied by a certain cost burden overall.

[Breakdown (Number of people)] (n=76)
- Under 50,000 yen: 15 people (19.74%)
- 50,000 to under 100,000 yen: 20 people (26.32%)
- 100,000 to under 500,000 yen: 38 people (50.00%)
- 500,000 to under 1,000,000 yen: 3 people (3.95%)
- 1,000,000 yen or more: 0 people (0.00%)

3. The most common reason for not paying was 'Not requested by the temple'
When the 13 people who answered 'Did not pay' were asked the 'reason for not paying', the most common was 'No request was made by the temple at all' with 8 people (61.54%).
This was followed by 'Prepared it but the temple declined' with 3 people (23.08%), and 'Did not pay as a result of negotiation' with 2 people (15.38%).
It becomes apparent that decoupling fees are not universally incurred, and responses vary depending on the temple's policy and relationship.

[Breakdown (Number of people)] (n=13)
- No request was made by the temple at all: 8 people (61.54%)
- Prepared it but the temple declined: 3 people (23.08%)
- Did not pay as a result of negotiation: 2 people (15.38%)

4. 42.00% of people experienced trouble during decoupling
When 100 people who had experienced tomb dismantling were asked, 'Did you have any trouble regarding decoupling?', the most common answer was 'Nothing in particular' with 58 people (58.00%).
On the other hand, a total of 42 people experienced some kind of trouble.
