HelioX Inc. (Headquarters: Toshima Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Han Bin) is launching a call for initial adoption partners for its "Solar Mobility Touring Experience Program," which utilizes solar-powered mobility for hotels, ryokans, and tourist facilities.

This program aims to transform accommodation facilities from mere "places to stay" into hubs for sustainable tourism experiences that explore the local region.

After checking in or during free time the following morning, guests can easily tour the seaside, hot spring towns, shopping streets, shrines, cafes, ports, and lakeside areas around the hotel using solar mobility.

Turning accommodation facilities into starting points for exploring the region.

The most distinctive feature of HelioX is its solar power generation capability integrated into the vehicle body. By utilizing sunlight for power generation even while parked outdoors during the day, it has the potential to significantly reduce the burden of charging and securing power compared to conventional electric mobility.

Currently, the program focuses on solar mobility of the "special small motorized bicycle" type, which can be used by individuals aged 16 and over without a license, offering new touring experiences originating from accommodation facilities. Furthermore, by 2026, HelioX plans to deploy Solar Ebikes aiming for a range of over 100 km, expanding its lineup of solar mobility to address transportation challenges in tourist destinations, from short to medium-long distances.

From "mobility that searches for outlets" to "mobility that utilizes solar power."

HelioX proposes a new form of tourism mobility that simultaneously supports new experiential value for accommodation facilities, regional circulation, decarbonization PR, and disaster preparedness.

Why "Solar Mobility" for Accommodation Facilities Now?

Tourist destinations face multiple challenges, including a lack of transportation from accommodation facilities to surrounding spots, short stays by tourists, stagnant growth in local consumption, and the need to address environmental considerations.

Meanwhile, guests are increasingly seeking experiences unique to the region, photo-worthy journeys, and eco-friendly travel, not just a place to stay.

Explore the region with solar power from your accommodation.

HelioX bridges these two needs. By introducing solar mobility at accommodation facilities, the area in front of hotels and ryokans becomes a starting point for new tourism experiences that explore the region.

Value Provided by HelioX

Reduced Charging Burden Equipped with solar power generation, it can utilize time spent parked outdoors for power generation. Conventional electric mobility faces operational burdens such as securing charging locations, managing charging times, and staff involvement in charging. HelioX aims to reduce charging frequency and management burden for tourist use, especially for daytime use and short-distance touring, through auxiliary charging via solar power.

Creating New Experiential Value for Accommodation Facilities HelioX is more than just a means of transportation. The straightforward experience of "touring the region with solar power" itself becomes a new attraction for accommodation facilities. It provides an opportunity for guests to rediscover the charms of the area surrounding the facility, such as morning strolls, sunset views by the sea, exploring hot spring towns, family outings, cafe hopping, and visiting port towns.

Easy to Share on Social Media and in Media The distinctive feature of mobility equipped with solar panels is immediately apparent. "Runs on solar power" "Touring the region from the hotel" "Eco-friendly travel experience" This clarity is highly compatible with social media, official websites, OTAs, local media, and tourism association communications, making it useful as PR material for accommodation facilities.

Utilizing for Decarbonization and Sustainable Tourism HelioX can also support the visualization of data such as mileage, usage frequency, and CO2 reduction. Accommodation facilities can communicate their decarbonization tourism initiatives based on actual usage data, rather than simply stating "we are environmentally conscious."

Promoting Regional Circulation and Local Consumption By making it easier for guests to travel around the hotel's vicinity, it fosters circulation to nearby restaurants, shopping streets, tourist facilities, roadside stations, hot spring towns, and historical areas. This is a co-creative initiative that enhances tourism value together with the entire region, rather than being confined to the accommodation facility.

From peacetime tourism to mobility and power supply during disasters Solar mobility can be used as a tourism experience for guests during peacetime. Furthermore, it has potential applications as a means of transportation and emergency power source during disasters, contributing to improved disaster preparedness value for accommodation facilities and regions.

Differences from Conventional Electric Mobility

Conventional electric bicycles and electric kickboards are primarily "tools to facilitate movement." In contrast, HelioX, by integrating solar power generation, transforms the act of movement itself into an experiential value for accommodation facilities.

Ordinary electric mobility runs after charging. HelioX utilizes solar power to tour the region.

This difference leaves a lasting impression on guests, enhances the facility's communication power, and creates new collaborations with the region.

From means of transportation to tourism content.

Seeking Initial Adoption Partners

HelioX is now seeking hotels, ryokans, minpaku (private lodging), and tourist facilities to become initial adoption partners for this program.

Target Facilities: ・Hotels ・Ryokans, Onsen Ryokans ・Minpaku (Private Lodging) ・Glamping Facilities ・Tourist Facilities ・Roadside Stations ・Facilities collaborating with tourism associations, DMOs, and local governments

Particularly suitable for facilities such as: ・Those with nearby seas, lakes, hot spring towns, shopping streets, shrines, cafes, or tourist spots. ・Those wishing to create new experiential content for their guests. ・Those aiming to strengthen their eco-friendly initiatives. ・Those seeking to promote regional circulation and local consumption. ・Those looking for initiatives that generate buzz on social media and in the media. ・Those wishing to introduce equipment with disaster preparedness value. ・Those who want to test on a small scale before considering full-scale adoption.

Implementation Plans

HelioX offers three implementation plans tailored to the scale and operational structure of each facility, allowing accommodation facilities to start smoothly.

・Space Provision / Turnkey Operation Model

The facility provides parking space and guidance for guests, while HelioX or a regional operating partner handles vehicle operation, user explanations, inspection/maintenance, reservation/rental flow, and PR utilization. This is suitable for facilities that want to start with minimal staff burden and operational risk.

・Revenue Share / Joint Operation Model

The facility and HelioX jointly design and operate rental services for guests and touring experience plans. This is suitable for facilities that want to create new revenue opportunities through utilization fees and integration with accommodation plans.

・Facility Operation Model

The facility introduces the vehicles as its own service and operates them as rentals for guests, part of accommodation plans, or as activity menus. This is suitable for facilities with existing experience in operating experiential services or rental bicycles.

The number of units can be flexibly designed according to the facility's scale, location, and surrounding tourism resources, ranging from small-scale trials of one unit, facility adoption of 3-6 units, to regional collaboration models with 10 or more units.

Representative's Comment

"We want to socially implement solar mobility not just as a vehicle, but as a new tourism experience for enjoying the region. Simply placing mobility in front of an accommodation facility does not create sufficient value. What's important is to create a flow where guests tour the region starting from the facility, take photos, make memories, and also visit local shops and tourist spots. HelioX combines solar power generation-equipped mobility, operational systems, touring route design, usage data, and CO2 reduction visualization to create a mechanism where accommodation facilities and the region can mutually enhance their value. First, we want to start with small-scale demonstrations with hotels, ryokans, and minpaku who will help us promote the charm of their regions."
