Goodyard Inc. (Headquarters: Yokose-machi, Chichibu-gun; CEO: Ryosuke Sugimoto), which operates the 'teihaku' private villa hotel brand in the Chichibu region of Saitama Prefecture, announces that it has acquired a property near Seibu-Chichibu Station to open a 'standing bar & guesthouse' targeting young people and solo travelers as a new business venture.

Through this challenge of a new 'social and affordable' business model, the first for the company, it aims to communicate the charm of Chichibu town and create new visitor flows and regional revitalization.

[Background and Purpose: From Private Spaces to a New Hub for Interaction]

Goodyard Inc. has been operating 'teihaku,' a private villa hotel emphasizing a sense of privacy for families and groups. While well-received by many guests, the company noted the limited availability of accommodations in the Chichibu area that are 'casual and affordable for young people and solo travelers.'

Therefore, the company decided to open a guesthouse focused on 'interaction' between guests and local residents, a departure from its previous 'provision of private spaces.'

[Property Overview and Features]

The acquired property is located near 'Seibu-Chichibu Station,' an excellent transportation hub for sightseeing.

The first floor will feature a standing bar and shared space. The front area facing the street will house a 'standing bar' where not only guests but also local residents can easily drop in. The back of the first floor will have a kitchen and living space where guests can freely cook.

The second floor will consist of private rooms and dormitories, with three private rooms ensuring privacy, plus a dormitory with bunk beds.

The rooftop will be a 'rooftop living' area overlooking Mount Buko, a symbol of Chichibu. It will be a relaxing space under the open sky where guests can naturally converse. During the Kawase Festival and Chichibu Night Festival, guests can enjoy fireworks from the rooftop.

However, on the other hand, it has been difficult to create interaction between guests or with the local community. So, I decided to take the first step towards a 'social accommodation,' something I had always wanted to try.

Chichibu town is full of wonderful shops, and bar-hopping is incredibly fun. I want to create a flow where guests and locals naturally become friends at the standing bar on the first floor and then head out together, saying, 'Let's go to the next place!' Also, since Chichibu has many festivals and events, it would be great if this place could be a catalyst for guests who hit it off to go out together.

Furthermore, many people wish to relocate to Chichibu. I hope this guesthouse can serve as a 'gateway' for those considering relocation to stay first and get to know the town.
