G&ECO Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Moritoshi Kojima) will sponsor the "3rd Sorabea Sonanel Project" by the NPO Sorabea Fund (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hidemitsu Tomita). The "Sorabea Sonanel Project" aims to improve the emergency preparedness of facilities for preschool children and raise awareness about the environment and disaster prevention. This new initiative involves donating "portable power supplies" and "solar panels" and holding an educational program called the "Sorabea Workshop" for children about the environment and disaster prevention. This marks the third time the project is being held.
Since its establishment in 2008, the NPO Sorabea Fund has been working to prevent global warming by promoting renewable energy. They have been implementing the "Sorabea Power Plant" project, donating solar power generation systems to kindergartens, daycares, and childcare centers nationwide. In 2025, they achieved a milestone of 100 donations.
The "Sorabea Power Plant" project donates solar power generation systems equivalent to 5kW, which requires a roof area of approximately 31 square meters or more for installation. For facilities without suitable roofs or where installation is difficult, the "Sorabea Sonanel Project" was launched in 2024 with the goals of improving emergency preparedness and raising environmental and disaster prevention awareness.
G&ECO has been a corporate supporter of the NPO Sorabea Fund since 2022 as part of their "1.5 for the future" initiative, where approximately 1.5% of sales from their generator product "ELSONA" are donated to non-profit organizations promoting renewable energy adoption. As a further step to promote renewable energy, G&ECO is sponsoring the "Sorabea Sonanel Project," providing "portable power supplies" and "solar panels." They will also collaborate with the Sorabea Fund and recipient facilities to conduct workshops on "environment and disaster prevention" for children.
A "portable power supply" can charge essential devices like smartphones and computers for communication and information access during power outages, and can also power home appliances such as electric kettles and microwaves. On sunny days, it can be charged using a "solar panel" and can also be used outdoors. These devices can be used daily for disaster preparedness and outdoor activities while also preparing for emergencies.
We look forward to receiving applications from many kindergartens, daycares, and childcare centers for this opportunity to think about the environment with children and to prepare for disasters.
