funbox Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Motofumi Hayashi) announced that it has begun offering a new rental service for “Toreca BOX®,” a vending machine capable of selling two types of trading cards from a single unit. Toreca BOX® is a new vending machine specialized for trading card sales. It features a simple, modern white exterior designed to blend naturally with store fixtures. Products are sold inside dedicated boxes measuring approximately 7 cm wide, 10.5 cm high, and 1 cm deep. As long as items fit inside the dedicated box, the machine can sell not only trading cards but also a variety of goods such as acrylic keychains, badges, and mini towels. Genuine dedicated boxes are required for stable operation and product protection, and excessively heavy items cannot be used. The machine can sell different items from its left and right slots, allowing operators to flexibly change product lineups according to trends and keep the sales area fresh. With a two-tier configuration, up to four types of products can be offered in the footprint of a single machine (two tiers × two left/right slots). It can also be combined with funbox’s original capsule toy vending machine, GACHABOX®, for hybrid sales. Three payment specifications are available to match the installation location and product pricing: a 500-yen model for easy one-coin sales, a 1,000-yen model for higher-priced products, and a medal model for operation with dedicated medals in amusement arcades and facilities. The medal model requires dedicated medals for A-muzu machines; each unit includes 100 medals, with additional sets of 100 also available. Toreca BOX® is designed for easy operation from assembly and installation to management. It can be assembled without tools, requires no power supply, and can be placed in vacant store spaces. Revenue collection is completed by unlocking the cash box above the product pickup slot. funbox is launching the rental service in response to needs such as reducing initial introduction costs and installing the machine only for a short period. The service makes it easier for stores to introduce the latest vending machine. Owners can test sales performance without purchasing the unit. Small unused spaces near checkout counters, corridors, or walls can be turned into special high-profit sales points. Because the structure contains no complex electronic components, the risk of malfunction is extremely low, and daily management only requires product restocking and revenue collection. The service name is “[Rental] Toreca BOX®.” Rental applications begin on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The service is available throughout Japan, excluding some areas such as remote islands. The lineup includes six patterns combining two body types, with casters for mobility or without casters for permanent installation, and three payment specifications: 500-yen, 1,000-yen, and medal models with 100 medals included. Rental prices per unit, excluding shipping, are 12,000 yen for a 3-day package (13,200 yen including tax), 15,500 yen for a 1-week/7-day package (17,050 yen including tax), 22,000 yen for a 1-month/30-day package (24,200 yen including tax), 44,000 yen for a 2-month/60-day package (48,400 yen including tax), and 66,000 yen for a 3-month/90-day package (72,600 yen including tax). funbox develops, manufactures, and sells capsule toys, capsule toy vending machines, acrylic goods, DECO chocolates, stationery, general goods, plastic products, and tin products under its founding concept of “manufacturing that creates smiles.” The company also creates experiential value through community capsule toy projects in partnership with commercial facilities and tourist destinations across Japan, while expanding into overseas markets through the establishment of an Indonesian subsidiary. funbox states that its mission is not only to make products, but also to deliver the excitement of the moment a customer picks them up and memorable experiences. The company will continue challenging new product categories, expanding into apparel and general goods, and making forward-looking proposals while flexibly responding to market changes.
