Tokyo's Kaneiji Temple, associated with the Tokugawa Shogunate, begins offering limited-edition "Tokugawa Kirie Goshuin" for summer

About Kaneiji Temple Kaneiji Temple is a head temple of the Tendai sect. It was founded in the second year of Kan'ei (1625) by the Most Venerable Monk Tenkai Jigen-daishi on the plateau of Ueno, which is the northeast (kimon) direction from Edo Castle, to pray for the peace of the Tokugawa Shogunate and all its people.
