(Headquarters: Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City; Representative Director: Kenta Watanabe) is pleased to announce the grand opening of "Menya EDITION Ogoto Branch," the 5th store in the "Menya EDITION" Kyoto pork fat soy sauce ramen chain, which uses noodles and soy sauce from the long-established Kyoto noodle maker "Kondo Seimen." The new store will open on July 9, 2026 (Thu). This marks the second store in Shiga Prefecture and the first in the Kosei area.

To commemorate the opening of this new store, a pre-opening reception event will be held on July 5, 2026 (Sun) starting at 10:30 AM, offering free ramen to the first 100 customers.

"Menya EDITION" opened its flagship store in Kyoto's "Shichijo Station" area, known as a "ramen battleground," on May 1, 2024 (Wed). Since then, it has served approximately 100,000 customers in total over one year (an average of 270 customers per day). The new "Menya EDITION Ogoto Branch" will offer the new "Chicken Salt Clam Ramen," which condenses the flavors of chicken and clams, as well as the popular "Edi-ro" (Jiro-inspired ramen) from the flagship store.

"Menya EDITION Ogoto Branch," the first store in the Kosei area and the 5th Menya EDITION store, will open.

The main product is "Pork Fat Soy Sauce Ramen," a representative Kyoto ramen. New products include "Chicken Salt Clam Ramen," which condenses the flavors of Kyoto red chicken and clams, and "Edi-ro," a Jiro-inspired ramen.

A "Free Ramen" event for the first 100 customers will be held on July 5 (Sun) from 10:30 AM, prior to the opening.

*During the event at the "Saiin Branch," a line began to form more than two hours before opening, and numbered tickets sold out before the store opened.

A thick-cut char siu menu, exclusive to the Ogoto Branch, will be introduced for the first time at Menya EDITION.

The ramen uses aged noodles from Kondo Seimen, favored by strong Kyoto ramen shops, and soy sauce from Kondo Seimen's secret recipe, "Kujo Negi" directly from contracted farmers, and char siu made from Kyoto brand pork "Kyotanba Kogen Pork."

The Ogoto Branch has developed a store-exclusive char siu menu for the first time at Menya EDITION. As a special specification not available at the flagship store, we offer a satisfyingly thick-cut char siu.

This limited-time menu is a must-try for meat lovers, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural flavor and satisfaction of the meat.

- Signature Product "Dark Side" using charred black soy sauce (Main Product):

"Dark Side" is the main product at the Ogoto Branch, made with charred black soy sauce. It is characterized by its fragrant aroma and deep richness, with a solid umami spreading from the first bite. As a rare authentic charred soy sauce ramen in the Kosei area, it offers a new experience for ramen fans.

- Jiro-Inspired Ramen "Edi-ro" for Hearty Eaters (Popular Product):

This is Menya EDITION's original Jiro-style ramen, which has been popular since its introduction at the flagship store. The theme is "Introduction to Jiro." Since there are no Jiro-style calls, you can order by simply choosing the noodle portion size, making it easy for Jiro-style ramen beginners to order.

The noodles are thick, curly noodles from Kyoto noodle maker "Menya Teigaku," resulting in a punchy ramen.

We use noodles and soy sauce from Kondo Seimen, favored by strong Kyoto ramen shops. Kondo Seimen's noodles are characterized by their hard, low-hydration texture without preservatives. The flavor of the wheat flour is directly reflected, and the noodles cling well to the soup. The soy sauce has a traditional light flavor, creating a soup that pairs perfectly with rich pork fat.

2 Use of Fresh "Kujo Negi" Directly Shipped from a Local Large Kujo Negi Farm

We use fresh "Kujo Negi" from Hidei Co., Ltd., which operates a large Kujo Negi farm locally. The Kujo Negi, with its concentrated aroma and sweetness, also has a flavor that subtly changes with the seasons. It has a soft flavor in spring, a crisp spiciness in summer and autumn, and its sweetness increases further from January to February when it is in season. We generously use such fresh Kujo Negi in our ramen.

3 Char Siu from Kyoto Brand Pork "Kodanba Kogen Pork," Winner of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award at the Western Japan Pork Carcass Competition

"Kodanba Kogen Pork" is raised in the Tamba Highlands, with its extreme temperature differences, which brings out the natural deliciousness of the pork. By feeding them feed mixed with half bread, the pork has a light and vibrant color, sweetness, and soft marbling.
