Together with Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City has launched the "Global Financial City OSAKA Strategy" (established March 2022), aiming to become a global city driven by finance and a frontrunner in international finance. From 2026 to 2030—the second phase of implementation—the city will intensively promote initiatives such as attracting foreign financial firms and fintech companies, supporting startups, and advocating for regulatory reforms.

For WebX2026, the city expects the conference to facilitate networking with domestic and international fintech companies and investors, as well as promote efforts toward realizing a global financial city.
