CeeGlass Inc.'s comprehensive selection specialized cram school, Cocomiit, will hold a free online seminar on July 5, 2026, from 2:00 PM, primarily targeting first and second-year high school students. The seminar, titled "Keio's Temperament, AO's Secrets, Keys to Success ~Understanding Keio's Philosophy and SFC's Characteristics, the First Step in Comprehensive Selection Preparation~," aims to provide insights into the comprehensive selection process and inquiry-based learning.

The seminar will feature Joji Hoshino, who graduated from Keio University's Faculty of Economics, completed his graduate studies at Keio University's Graduate School of Policy and Media Studies (SFC), and is currently involved in supporting inquiry-based learning and PBL in the education field.

Hoshino will share his own learning experiences and practical insights from the education field on how high school students can formulate questions, identify challenges, and deepen their inquiry themes, which are crucial for considering university studies and future career paths.

This online seminar is designed for first and second-year high school students who wish to delve deeper into their interests and questions from an early stage, with an eye toward comprehensive selection.

Background of the Seminar

In recent years, university entrance exams, including comprehensive selection, have increasingly emphasized students' ability to articulate their interests, activities, and motivation for future learning in their own words.

However, it is not easy for high school students to find inquiry themes based on their interests and connect them to university studies and career choices.

"I don't know what theme to choose." "I don't know how to deepen my interests." "I don't know how to connect my inquiry activities to university entrance exams."

Many first and second-year high school students face these challenges.

Therefore, Cocomiit is hosting this online seminar with Joji Hoshino, who has studied at Keio University's Faculty of Economics and Graduate School of Policy and Media Studies (SFC), and has supported inquiry-based learning and PBL in educational settings, to provide high school students with an opportunity to think about "their own questions."

Three Highlights of the Seminar

Joji Hoshino to Speak Based on His Learning and Educational Practice

Speaker Joji Hoshino graduated from Keio University's Faculty of Economics and completed his graduate studies at Keio University's Graduate School of Policy and Media Studies (SFC), experiencing studies at both Mita/Hiyoshi and SFC.

He is currently involved in supporting inquiry-based learning, PBL, and educational DX in educational settings as the Secretariat of SFC Mita-kai, Senior Researcher at the SFC Research Institute, Bridge Inquiry Collaborator, and Advisor for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's School DX Strategy.

In this seminar, based on his personal experiences and educational practice, Hoshino will introduce the learning characteristics emphasized at SFC and his approach to inquiry-based learning.

Explanation of "Problem Discovery and Problem Solving" Learning Style for High School Students

University studies and comprehensive selection require not only answering given problems but also the ability to formulate one's own questions, identify challenges, and continuously think about solutions.

This seminar will explain the concept of "problem discovery and problem solving" in a way that is easy for high school students to understand.

We will consider what perspectives are needed to connect inquiry-based learning to one's own interests and future studies, rather than letting it end as a mere school assignment.

Understanding How to Proceed with Inquiry from the First and Second Year of High School

Preparation for comprehensive selection should not begin just before the exam.

It is important to nurture inquiry themes from the first and second year of high school by focusing on one's own interests and connecting them to everyday questions and social issues.

This seminar will provide tips on how high school students can start their inquiry process now and deepen their own questions.

"What's important in comprehensive selection is not just memorizing correct answers, but the ability to formulate questions from one's own interests and deepen one's thinking. In this seminar, Joji Hoshino will share his perspectives on approaching inquiry-based learning based on his own learning experiences and educational practice. We hope this will be an opportunity for first and second-year high school students to think about their own interests and future studies."
